GOVERNMENT RELATIONS:PROVIDES REPRESENTATION TO MEMBERS AND AFFILIATES BEFORE GOVERNMENT. POSITIVELY INFLUENCES THE PASSAGE OF RATIONAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS THAT ALLOW MEMBER COMPANIES TO OPERATE IN A PRODUCTIVE MANNER AS GOOD CORPORATE CITIZENS. ON ISSUES AS WIDE-RANGING AS REFORMING THE TOXIC SUBSTANCES CONTROL ACT (TSCA), TO AUTHORIZING THE CHEMICAL FACILITY ANTI-TERRORISM STANDARDS(CFATS), TO INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND THE RESOURCE CONSERVATION AND RECOVERY ACT (RCRA). SOCMA'S ADVOCACY EFFORTS CONTINUE TO ENGAGE LEGISLATORS AND REGULATORS ALIKE THROUGH TRADITIONAL, SOCIAL MEDIA AND GRASSROOTS MOBILIZATION.

THE EHS&S CHEMSTEWARDS PROGRAM FACILITATES THE SUCCESSFUL IMPLEMENTATION OF BEST PRACTICES FOR MEMBER COMPANIES. THROUGH THE CHEMSTEWARDS PORTAL, THE MANAGEMENT AND COMPLIANCE OF THE EHS&S PROGRAM PROVIDES MEMBERS COMPANIES AN EASY-TO-USE RESOURCE THAT SAVES TIME AND MONEY BY HAVING ALL CHEMSTEWARDS AND RELATED EHS&S DOCUMENTS IN ONE CENTRALIZED REPOSITORY. THE CHEMICAL OPERATIONS TRAINING TOOL IS DESIGNED FOR CHEMICAL MANUFACTURING PLANTS IN NEED OF SUPERIOR OPERATOR TRAINING WITH INTERACTIVE 3D ANIMATIONS OF PROCESS EQUIPMENT AND SELF-GUIDED EXERCICES. THE TOOL IS A COMPREHENISVEPROGRAM AND AVAILABLE THROUGH AN ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION.
