GSA SERVES AN INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY OF SCIENTISTS WHO USE GENETICS TO MAKE NEW DISCOVERIES AND IMPROVE LIVES. WE ADVANCE BIOLOGICAL RESEARCH BY SUPPORTING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF SCIENTISTS, BY COMMUNICATING ADVANCES AND FOSTERING COLLABORATION THROUGH SCHOLARLY PUBLISHING AND CONFERENCES, AND BY ADVOCATING FOR SCIENCE AND FOR SCIENTISTS. WE SEEK TO CULTIVATE AN INCLUSIVE, DIVERSE RESEARCH COMMUNITY THAT ENGAGES WITH THE PUBLIC, COMMUNICATES THE EXCITEMENT AND IMPLICATIONS OF DISCOVERY, AND SERVES AS AN AUTHORITATIVE SOURCE OF INFORMATION.

JOURNALS - GSA PUBLISHES THE PEER-REVIEWED JOURNALS GENETICS AND G3: GENES|GENOMES|GENETICS. THESE SCIENTIFIC JOURNALS COMMUNICATE HIGH-QUALITY, ORIGINAL RESEARCH IN THE FIELD OF GENETICS AND GENOMICS. THE AUDIENCE INCLUDES SCIENTISTS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD ACROSS THE BIOLOGICAL SCIENTISTS, REPRESENTING MEMBERS, SUBSCRIBERS, AND READERS FROM MULTIPLE CAREER STAGES AND INSTITUTIONAL TYPES.
MEMBERSHIP
CONFERENCES - GSA HOSTS CONFERENCES ATTENDED BY THOSE WHO HAVE A COMMON INTEREST IN RECENT DEVELOPMENTS AND RESEARCH IN THE FIELD OF GENETICS AND FOCUSED ON PARTICULAR EXPERIMENTAL ORGANISMS OR RESEARCH APPROACHES. GSA ALSO HOSTS A CONFERENCE THAT BRINGS TOGETHER MULTIPLE GROUPS SPANNING TOPICAL AND ORGANISM FOCUSES. ATTENDEES INCLUDE SCIENTISTS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD AND REPRESENT MEMBERS, NON-MEMBERS, EDUCATORS, INDUSTRY REPRESENTATIVES, TYPES OF INSTITUTIONS, AND SCIENTISTS RANGING FROM EARLY CAREER TO FACULTY.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATION - GSA CREATES INITIATIVES TO PROVIDE TRAINING, MENTORSHIP, AND COMMUNITY NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES FOR SCIENTISTS TO DEVELOP THEIR SKILLS AND ACHIEVE THEIR CAREER GOALS. GSA THROUGH ITS EDUCATION COMMITTEE PROVIDES EDUCATION-RELATED PROGRAMMING FOR ITS CONFERENCES AS WELL AS RELATED PROJECTS FOR COMMUNITY MEMBERS.
