TO PROVIDE A WIDE RANGE OF SERVICES AND PROGRAMS TO HOMEBOUND AND SENIOR CITIZENS OF ROCKLAND COUNTY, NEW YORK.

HOMEBOUND PROGRAMOFFERS A VARIETY OF PREPARED AND PACKAGED HOME DELIVERED MEALS THAT ARE DELIVERED EVERY WEEKDAY (INCLUDING HOLIDAYS) AND PROVIDE MEALS FOR UP TO SEVEN DAYS A WEEK TO ROCKLAND COUNTY RESIDENTS WHO ARE HOMEBOUND DUE TO ILLNESS, ADVANCING AGE OR PHYSICAL HANDICAP AND WHO ARE UNABLE TO SHOP OR PREPARE MEALS FOR THEMSELVES. A VARIETY OF FUNDING OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE. IN 2021, THE AGENCY DELIVERED 178,329 MEALS THROUGH THIS PROGRAM.
ROCKLAND SENIOR CENTERS PROGRAMFIVE MULTIPURPOSE SENIOR CENTERS STRATEGICALLY LOCATED ACROSS ROCKLAND OPEN FIVE DAYS A WEEK TO RESIDENTS 60 AND OLDER. THE CENTERS OFFER A VARIETY OF SUPPORT SERVICES INCLUDING TRANSPORTATION, RECREATION, HEALTH SCREENING, ADVOCACY, INFORMATION AND REFERRAL AND A HOT MEAL. PARTICIPANTS CONTRIBUTE TOWARD THE COSTS OF THE MEALS. DUE TO THE PANDEMIC, THESE CENTERS WERE CLOSED IN MID-MARCH OF 2020. DURING 2021, TWO OF THE SENDIOR CENTERS REOPENED. THE PROGRAMS PROVIDED 7,591 DAYS OF SERVICES TO SENIORS.
THE ADULT LEARNING CENTER AND OTHER PROGRAMSTHE ADULT LEARNING CENTER IS A STATE OF THE ART EDUCATIONAL LEARNING CENTER WHICH AFFORDS OLDER ADULTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN HOW TO USE COMPUTERS AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY. COURSES RUN FOR AN AVERAGE OF FOUR TO SIX WEEKS; MEETING WEEKLY FOR TWO HOURS A SESSION. DUE TO THE PANDEMIC, THIS PROGRAM WAS CLOSED IN MID-MARCH. 2020 AND REMAINED CLOSED IN 2021. OTHER PROGRAMS INCLUDES PROVIDING MEALS FOR OTHER NOT FOR PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS. IN 2021 10,215 MEALS WERE PROVIDED TO THE ORGANIZATIONS. OTHER PROGRAMS INCLUDE THE ADULT LEARNING CENTER AS WELL AS CONTRACT MEALS PROVIDED TO OTHER ORGANIZATIONS
