CPC OPERATES BOTH A FULL YEAR HEAD START PROGRAM AND EARLY HEAD START PROGRAM UNDER A GRANT FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES. THE HEAD START PROGRAMS PROVIDE COMPREHENSIVE EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT FOR PRE-SCHOOL CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES, AS WELL AS CONSULTATIVE AND OTHER SERVICES TO EXPECTANT PARENTS.
SINCE 1984, CPC HAS OPERATED DAY HAVEN ADULT DAY SERVICE CENTERS THAT MEET DIFFERENT NEEDS, BUT SHARE A COMMON GOAL: TO PROVIDE OLDER ADULTS WITH SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES DURING THE DAY, SO THAT THEY CAN CONTINUE TO LIVE AT HOME WITH THEIR FAMILIES. SERVICES ARE PROVIDED IN THE RONKONKOMA, PORT JEFFERSON AND RIVERHEAD CENTERS.
CPC PROVIDES UNIVERSAL PRE-KINDERGARTEN PROGRAMS FOR SEVERAL SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN SUFFOLK COUNTY. THESE SERVICES ARE HALF DAY PROGRAMS WHICH OPERATE DURING THE 10 MONTH SCHOOL YEAR AND ARE PROVIDED IN TWO OF THE CPC LOCATIONS.
