A TOTAL OF 65 CHILDREN AND YOUTHS AGES 0-18 YEARS WERE SERVED THROUGH THE AGENCY'S FOSTER CARE PROGRAM. TYPICALLY, THE CHILDREN CAME FROM DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS AND WALKS OF LIFE. THE GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF CAREGIVER' S HELPER, INC. ARE PROTECT CHILDREN FROM FURTHER TRAUMA OF ABUSE OR NEGLECT, IDENTIFY AND PROVIDE INTERVENTION FOR CHILDREN THAT ARE AT HIGH RISK FOR SUICIDE AND SELF-HARM, KEEP CHILDREN SAFE WHILE IN CARE, ENSURE BASIC AND TREATMENT NEEDS ARE MET DAILY, ENHANCE ACADEMIC AND EDUCATIONAL SKILLS, PROMOTE POSITIVE COMMUNICATION AND SOCIAL-INTERACTION SKILLS, AND TEACH YOUTHS 14-18 YEARS BASIC LIFE SKILLS TO EQUIP THEM FOR SURVIVAL AND FUNCTIONAL LIFE IN THE COMMUNITY AFTER FOSTER CARE.
