THE BLACKSTONE VALLEY COMMUNITY ACTION PROGRAM (BVCAP) IS A NON-PROFIT AGENCY AND A MEMBER OF THE NATION-WIDE NETWORK OF COMMUNITY ACTION PROGRAMS. THEIR MISSION IS TO ASSIST LOW INCOME PEOPLE AND EMPOWER THEM TO BECOME SELF-RELIANT, RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS. THEIR PROGRAMS ARE FUNDED THROUGH FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL GRANTS

WEATHERIZATION/HEATING ASSISTANCE - ASSIST LOW INCOME INDIVIDUALS AND THEIR FAMILIES INCLUDING THE HANDICAPPED, IN WEATHERIZING AND HEATING THEIR HOMES.


PARENTS AS TEACHERS HOME VISITING PROGRAM (PAT) IS A FREE, VOLUNTARY, CONFIDENTIAL SERVICES TO EXPECTANT MOTHERS AND FAMILIES WITH YOUNG CHILDREN. THIS PROGRAM IS A LONG TERM, EVIDENCE-BASED, FAMILY VISITING PROGRAM, MADE TO INCREASE PARENT KNOWLEDGE OF EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT AND IMPROVE PRACTICES. HEALTHY FAMILIES AMERICA (HFA) IS TO BUILD AND MAINTAIN PARTNERSHIPS IN COMMUNITIES THAT ENGAGE FAMILY AND VISITING, EITHER PRENATALLY OR AT BIRTH. IT IS A LONG TERM FAMILY VISITING PROGRAM FOR EXPECTANT MOTHERS OR FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN UNDER TWO WEEKS OLD.
