EDUCATION & TRAINING - JUST-A-START OFFERS EDUCATION AND WORKFORCE TRAINING PROGRAMS INCLUDING YOUTHBUILD, THE BIOMEDICAL CAREERS PROGRAM, AND THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) CAREERS PROGRAM, TO YOUTH AND AUDLTS FROM CAMBRIDGE AND NEARBY COMMUNITIES. THESE TUITION-FREE PROGRAMS HELP ENSURE THAT ALL PEOPLE, FROM TEENS EARNINGS A HIGH SCHOOL CREDENTIAL TO AUDLT LEARNERS MAKING A CAREER CHANGE, HAVE THE SKILLS AND RESOURCES NECESSARY TO PURSUE EDUCATION, SUCCESSFULLY ENTER A COMPETITIVE JOB MARKET, AND DEVELOP UPWARD CAREER MOBILITY.
HOUSING DEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING SERVICES - JAS PROVIDES HOUSING RESOURCES AND SERVICES TO ITS 1,500 RESIDENTS AND APPROXIMATELY 1,000 COMMUNITY MEMBERS EACH YEAR. TO AVOID EVICTIONS, PREVENT HOMELESSNESS, AND STABILIZE HOUSING, JAS PROVDES AT-RISK INDIVVIDUALS IN CAMBRIDGE AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES WITH MEDIATION, EMERGENCY RENTAL ASSISTANCE, LEGAL EDUCATION, AND RAPID REHOUSING SERVICES.
