TO MOBILIZE AND EFFICIENTLY MANAGE RESOURCES THROUGH PARTNERSHIPS AND COLLABORATIONS TO HELP THE LOW-INCOME AND AT-RISK POPULATIONS IN THE HUDSON VALLEY REGION TO ACHIEVE GREATER SELF-SUFFICIENCY.

EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAM:WESTCOP'S EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS INCLUDE AN ARRAY OF FOCUSED PROGRAMS, HEAD START EARLY HEAD START EARLY HEAD START COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS UNIVERSAL PRE-K ALL PROGRAMS WORK IN TANDEM TO COLLECTIVELY ADDRESS DIVERSE EARLY CHILDHOOD COMMUNITY BASED NEEDS.GIVING CHILDREN A HEAD START THROUGH COMPREHENSIVE QUALITY CARE CHILDREN ARE BORN READY TO LEARN, BUT THOSE WHOSE FAMILIES STRUGGLE OFTEN DON'T RECEIVE THE BEST OPPORTUNITIES TO DEVELOP AND GROW, THE DISPARITIES IN THEIR EARLIEST YEARS MULTIPLY AS THEY GET OLDER, AFFECTING EVERY ASPECT OF THEIR ADULT LIVES, ACADEMICS, HEALTH, SOCIAL SKILLS, CAREER, AND EARNINGS. THROUGH WESTCOP'S EARLY CHILDHOOD AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS NEARLY 2,000 CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES RECEIVE THE QUALITY EARLY CARE AND EDUCATION AND HOLISTIC SUPPORT SERVICES THEY NEED. WESTCOP'S GOAL IS TO CREATE AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE EVERY CHILD AND FAMILY HAS THE OPPORTUNITY TO MEET THEIR POTENTIAL.


SHELTER PROGRAM:ONE OF THE GOALS FOR OUR HOMELESS SHELTER PROGRAM IS TO PROVIDE RESOURCES TO CLIENTS THAT WILL LEAD TO PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING FOR HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES WITHIN A SIX TO NINE MONTHS. SOME OF THE RESOURCES THAT WESTCOP ARE IMPLEMENTING THROUGH OUR PROGRAMS INCLUDE TEMPORARY RENTAL ASSISTANCE, MONEY MANAGEMENT, JOB TRAINING AND PLACEMENT AND OTHER SOCIAL SERVICES. THE CLIENT'S PROGRESS IS MONITORED AND MEASURED ON AN ON-GOING BASIS TO ENSURE THAT WE ARE PROVIDING THE MOST APPROPRIATE AND BENEFICIAL RESOURCES FOR THEIR SUCCESS TO SELF-SUFFICIENCY. WESTCOP IS CURRENTLY OPERATING FOUR SHELTER PROGRAMS. A MALE ONLY DROP IN SHELTER IN THE CITY OF NEW ROCHELLE, A WOMEN ONLY DROP IN SHELTER IN THE CITY OF MOUNT VERNON, A SPECIAL MONITORING SHELTER FOR PRIOR SEX OFFENDERS IN VALHALLA, NEW YORK AND THE ONLY COVID-19 POSITIVE SHELTER IN WESTCHESTER COUNTY LOCATED IN ELMSFORD, NEW YORK.


CAP PROGRAM:OUR NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICE CENTERS ARE THE HUBS AROUND WHICH OUR AGENCY'S COMMUNITY ACTION SYSTEM REVOLVE. THEY SERVE THE CRITICAL ROLE OF ADVOCATES FOR IMPOVERISHED AND MINORITY CONSTITUENCIES, ASSISTING THEM IN ORGANIZING IN ORDER TO INFLUENCE THE LARGER COMMUNITY'S ALLOCATION OF RESOURCES; KEEPING THEIR INTERESTS BEFORE LOCAL GOVERNMENTS, PUBLIC AND PRIVATE AGENCIES. WESTCOP'S CAPS SERVE TO: IDENTIFY LOCAL NEEDS OF RESIDENTS ON AN ONGOING BASIS PROVIDE VITAL RESOURCES TO RESIDENTS IN THEIR RESPECTIVE NEIGHBORHOODS PROVIDE DIRECT SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE NOWHERE ELSE TO TURN CONNECT RESIDENTS TO SERVICES THAT ARE PROVIDED WITHIN WESTCOP AND BY OTHER LOCAL SERVICE PROVIDERS. WESTCOP'S COMMUNITY ACTION PARTNERSHIP (CAP) CENTERS PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS AND SERVICES: EMPLOYMENT & EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT BACK-TO-SCHOOL PROGRAMS SUMMER EDUCATION PROGRAMS ADULT BASIC EDUCATION PREPARATION BENEFIT COORDINATION & ADVOCACY NUTRITION & WELLNESS SENIOR & DISABLED WELLNESS CLOTHING & FURNITURE HOLIDAY GIFTS VOLUNTEER INCOME TAX ASSISTANCE (VITA) BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE.
