4 THE CHILDREN (4TC) TRAINS VOLUNTEERS TO GATHER INFORMATION ABOUT THE SITUATION SO A JUDGE CAN MAKE AN INFORMED DECISION IN COURT FOR CHILDREN INVOLVED IN DEPENDENCY AND NEGELECT CASES. 4TC ALSO PROVIDES SUPERVISED EXCHANGES AND VISITS AND OPERATES A CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER.

COURT APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATES (CASA) IS A NATIONAL PROGRAM THAT ADVOCATES FOR THE BEST INTEREST OF ABUSED AND NEGELECTED CHILDREN. A CASA IS A VOLUNTEER ASSIGNED TO A CASE WITHIN THE DEPENDENCY AND NEGLECT SYSTEM, WHO IS A SWORN OFFICER OF THE COURT AND SERVES TO ADVOCATE FOR CHILDREN WHO ARE INVOLVED IN THE WELFARE SYSTEM, WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED ABUCSE, NEGLECT AND OTHER ADVERSE CHILDHOOD EXPERIENCES.


SUPERVISED EXCHANGE AND PARENTING TIME (SEPT) AIMS TO SUPPORT FAMILIES WHO ARE IN CRISIS THROUGH STAFF OR VOLUNTEER NEUTRAL OBSERVATION OF NON-CUSTODIAL PARENTS TIME WITH THEIR CHILDREN. THIS TYPICALLY COURT ORDERED SERVICE AIMS TO PREVENT THE RE-VICTIMIZATION OF CHILDREN. 4 THE CHILDREN PROVIDES A SAFE PLACE FOR PARENTS AND CHILDREN TO TRANSITION BETWEEN HOMES WITHOUT EXPOSING CHILDREN TO HIGH CONFLICT INTERACTIONS BETWEEN PARENTS.


CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER (CAC) IS A COLLABORATIVE PROGRAM THAT FOCUSES ON HELPING CHILDREN HEAL FROM ABUSE BY STREAMLINING SERVICES PROVIDED BY LAW ENFORCEMENT, CHILD PROTECTION, PROSECUTION, MENTAL HEALTH, MEDICAL AND VICTIM ADVOCACY PROFESSIONALS, ALL IN ONE LOCATION.
