COMMUNITY BIKES IS A REUSE AND REPAIR PROGRAM THAT ALSO PROMOTES BICYCLES AS AN ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY FORM OF TRANSPORTATION. WE TEACH ALL INTERESTED PARTIES - REGARDLESS OF AGE, SKILL LEVEL OR FINANCIAL STATUS, TO SAFELY MAINTAIN, REPAIR AND REUSE BIKES. OUR STAFF REPAIRS BIKES AS A LOW COST COMMUNITY SERVICE AND REFURBISHES DONATED BIKES THAT ARE THEN SOLD AT A DISCOUNT OR GIVEN TO AGENCIES FOR INDIVIDUALS IN NEED.
ZERO WASTE ACTION - SONOMA COUNTY PROMOTES AND ADVOCATES FOR HIGH DIVERSION AND ZERO WASTE PRACTICES, POLICIES AND PROGRAMS. WE CONDUCT A WIDE RANGE OF VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES VIA OUR LARGE NETWORK AND IN COLLABORATION WITH OTHER NONPROFIT GROUPS. EXAMPLES INCLUDE WRITING ARTICLES, EVENT TABLING, GIVING PRESENTATIONS AND WORKSHOPS AND ORGANIZING SYMPOSIUMS, REPAIR FAIRS, SWAPS, ETC.
