THE MISSION OF SPURWINK|RI IS TO ASSIST CHILDREN AND ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES IN PURSUING SOCIAL, EDUCATIONAL, VOCATIONAL AND OTHER LIFE ENHANCING OPPORTUNITIES.

SPURWINK|RI ACCREDITED BY THE COUNCIL ON ACCREDIATION (COA) OPERATES MEDICAID APPROVED RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES AND COMMUNITY-BASED SUPPORTED LIVING THROUGHOUT RHODE ISLAND FOR ADULTS WITH INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES REFERRED BY THE RHODE ISLAND DEPARTMENT OF BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE, DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES AND HOSPITALS (BHDDH). THE PROGRAM PROVIDES PARTICIPANTS WITH IMPROVED QUALITY OF LIFE THROUGH THE PROVISION OF CLINICAL SUPPORTS, SKILL DEVELOPMENT IN DAILY LIVING, EMPLOYMENT, LEISURE AND SOCIAL ENVIRONMENTS WITHIN THE COMMUNITY. SERVICES AND SUPPORTS INCLUDE RESIDENTIAL, IN-HOME SUPPORTS, COMMUNITY SUPPORTS, EMPLOYMENT, VOCATIONAL, AND DAY SERVICES. DURING 2022, SPURWINK|RI PROVIDED RESIDENTIAL, COMMUNITY AND CLINICAL SUPPORT SERVICES TO 41 ADULTS.ON JUNE 23, 2022, THE COUNCIL ON ACCREDITATION (COA) APPROVED THE REACCREDITATION OF SPURWINK|RI THROUGH JUNE 30, 2026. THIS IS A TOTAL AGENCY REACCREDITATION WHICH RECOGNIZES SPURWINK|RI AS A PROVIDER OF HIGH QUALITY SERVICES. THE REACCREDITATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS: - GROUP LIVING SERVICES - OUTPATIENT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES - VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION SERVICES


VOCLINKS ACCREDITED BY THE COUNCIL OF ACCREDITATION (COA) PROVIDES SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT, EMPLOYMENT PLACEMENT, SCHOOL TO CAREER, VOCATIONAL AND COMMUNITY BASED DAY SUPPORT SERVICES FOR ADULTS WITH INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES. VOCLINKS PROVIDED SUPPORT SERVICES TO 51 INDIVIDUALS DURING 2022.


SPURWINK SCHOOL - RECOGNIZED BY THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF SPECIAL EDUCATION OPERATES A YEAR-ROUND SPECIAL EDUCATION AND THERAPEUTIC SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS WHO QUALIFY FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION DUE TO MENTAL HEALTH CHALLENGES WHICH HAN AN IMPACT ON THEIR ABILITY TO MAKE PROGRESS IN A TRADITIONAL SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT. REFERRALS FOR STUDENTS K-12 ARE FROM LOCAL SCHOOL DEPARTMENTS AND CHARTER SCHOOLS ACROSS RI. DURING 2022, SPURWINK SCHOOL PROVIDED SPECIAL EDUCATION, THERAPEUTIC TREATMENT, CLINICAL SUPPORTS, SCHOOL TO CAREER AND VOCATIONAL SERVICES TO 32 CHILDREN.
