Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
MADLAB IS OUR NEW PLAY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM, TAKING A PLAYWRIGHT FROM A CONCEPT OF A PLAY TO A FIRST PUBLIC READING OF THAT NEW PLAY. WE DEVELOPED THREE NEW PLAYS, EACH VERY DIFFERENT FROM THE OTHER. WE WERE PARTICULARLY PROUD OF THE CONNECTION WE MADE INTO THE INDIGENOUS COMMUNITY OF ACTORS IN LOS ANGELES AS ONE OF THE PLAYS WAS ABOUT RESETTLEMENT, RIGHTS, AND BELONGING ADDITIONALLY, WE WERE ABLE TO LIVE-STREAM THESE READINGS AND THEY WERE WATCHED ALL ACROSS THE COUNTRY AS WELL AS BY AN IN-PERSON AUDIENCE.
PLAYS IN MOTION IS ANOTHER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM, BUT ONE THAT IS FOCUSED ON PLAYS THAT ARE WRITTEN AND THAT WE THINK MIGHT HAVE PRODUCTION POSSIBILITIES WITH THE COMPANY. THIS WAS A NEW PROGRAM AND ONE THAT WE FOUND VERY REWARDING AND SUCCESSFUL FOR BOTH THE ARTISTS AND THE COMPANY.
