ABT PERFORMING ARTS ASSOCIATION INC. ENRICHES LIVES THROUGH THE POWER OF THE PERFORMING ARTS BY PRODUCING LIVE THEATRE AND HIGH QUALITY ENTERTAINMENT. LIVE THEATRE INCLUDES PERFORMANCES OF BROADWAY MUSICALS, PERFORMANCES TARGET TOWARD CHILDREN AND THE ACADEMY FOR YOUNG PERFORMERS WHICH INTRODUCES, INSTILLS, AND INSPIRES YOUNG PEOPLE TO DEVELOP AN APPRECIATION FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS THROUGH EDUCATION AND EXPLORATION OF THEATRE SKILLS. DURING THE 2022 2023 SEASON 68,449 PATRONS ATTENDED MUSICALS, CONCERTS AND OTHER EVENTS OFFERED AT ABT. THE THEATRES PATRONS INCLUDED 2,318 CHILDREN AND PARENTS OR GUARDIANS WHO ATTENDED THE THEATRE FOR YOUNG AUDIENCES PERFORMANCES, LIVE PROFESSIONAL THEATRE THAT IS PERFORMED BY PROFESSIONAL ACTORS. IN ADDITION, CHILDREN ATTENDED THE ACADEMY WHERE THEY LEARN THE INS AND OUTS OF EVERYTHING IT TAKES TO PUT ON A MUSICAL, BOTH IN FRONT OF AND BEHIND THE CURTAIN. ALL CLASSES FOCUS ON ACTING AS WELL AS MUSIC, AUDITIONING, STAGING, CHOREOGRAPHY, COSTUME AND SET DESIGN AND PERFORMANCE. CLASSES ARE TAUGHT BY INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS. EACH CAMP CULMINATES WITH A SHOW ON THE MAINSTAGE.
