ABT PERFORMING ARTS ASSOCIATION, INC. (ABT) ENRICHES LIVES THROUGH THE POWER OF THE PERFORMING ARTS BY PRODUCING LIVE THEATRE AND OTHER HIGH QUALITY ENTERTAINMENT. LIVE THEATRE INCLUDES PERFORMANCES OF BROADWAY MUSICALS AND PLAYS, PERFORMANCES TARGETED TOWARD CHILDREN, THE ACADEMY FOR YOUNG PERFORMERS WHICH INTRODUCES, INSTILLS AND INSPIRES YOUNG PEOPLE TO DEVELOP AN APPRECIATION FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS THROUGH EDUCATION AND EXPLORATION OF THEATRE SKILLS, AND HYREV WHICH ENRICHES PERFORMANCE SKILLS OF TEENAGERS AS THEY WORK TOGETHER AS A TEAM. DURING THE YEAR ENDED SEPTEMBER 30, 2021, 27,000 PATRONS ATTENDED 42 DIFFERENT MUSICALS, CONCERTS AND SPECIAL EVENTS OFFERED AT ARIZONA BROADWAY THEATRE. THESE PERFORMANCES INCLUDED 9 MUSICALS ON THE MAIN STAGE AND IN THE SMALLER ENCORE ROOM, 29 CONCERTS, PLAYS AND SPECIAL EVENTS, AND 4 HOLIDAY CHARACTER BREAKFASTS FOR CHILDREN. DUE TO THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC, ATTENDANCE WAS SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED WITH NO MAJOR SHOWS STAGED FROM OCTOBER-DECEMBER 2020 AND ALLOWED MAXIMUM ATTENDANCE RESTRICTED DURING THE REMAINDER OF THE FISCAL YEAR. FOR COMPARISON PURPOSES, DURING THE YEAR ENDED SEPTEMBER 30, 2019 OVER 92,000 PATRONS WERE IN ATTENDANCE COMPARED TO 28,000 IN ATTENDANCE DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED SEPTEMBER 30, 2021.
