PROGRAMMING IN 2021, CAL SHAKES HOSTED A SERIES OF ACTIVITIES AND PERFORMANCES AT THE BRUNS. AMONG THESE WERE BOTH RENTALS THAT INVITE NEW AUDIENCES TO THE BRUNS AND SHARED LIGHT PROGRAMMING THAT IS PRESENTED IN COLLABORATION WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS. EVENTS INCLUDED:-MUSIC CONCERTS (CHANTICLEER, TAJ MAHAL, THE REBIRTH BRASS BAND, AND ANIMAL LIBERATION ORCHESTRA (ALO), HARDLY STRICTLY BLUEGRASS (A FILMING), BERKELEY SYMPHONYS REOPENING CONCERT, AND THE YOUNG PEOPLE'S SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA)

ARTISTIC ENGAGEMENTIN 2021, CAL SHAKES RESUMED IN-PERSON ARTS EDUCATION ACTIVITIES AND RECONNECTED WITH CLASSROOM TEACHERS, INCLUDING THE 2021 SUMMER CONSERVATORY AND THE STUDENT DISCOVERY MATINEE PROGRAM WITH THE WINTERS TALE, WITH 474 STUDENTS ATTENDING THREE STUDENT DISCOVERY MATINEE PERFORMANCES AT THE BRUNS AMPHITHEATER. THE POST-SHOW DIALOGUE STUDENTS HAD WITH THE ACTORS DEMONSTRATED BOTH THE BRILLIANCE OF YOUTH WITHIN OUR SCHOOLS AND THAT CAL SHAKES PRODUCTIONS HAVE THE POWER TO ENGENDER THIS LEVEL OF COMPLEX THINKING.
