ONE VOICE IS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION HELPING FAMILIES LIVING AT POVERTY LEVEL WITHIN THE LOS ANGELES AREA. ITS PROGRAMS RANGE FROM PROVIDING EMERGENCY RELIEF SERVICES TO FAMILIES IN IMMEDIATE CRISES TO A SCHOLARS PROGRAM DESIGNED TO BETTER THE QUALITY OF PEOPLE'S LIVES.

THE SCHOLARS PROGRAM: PROVIDES A WIDE ARRAY OF SUPPORTIVE SERVICES TO LOW INCOME AND MINORITY STUDENTS, HELPING THEM TO ATTEND AND GRADUATE FROM SOME OF THE NATION'S TOP COLLEGES.


ANNUAL HOLIDAY FOOD PROGRAM: PROVIDES CHRISTMAS FOOD BASKETS, BOOKS AND TOYS TO LOW-INCOME FAMILIES AFFILIATED WITH HEAD START AGENCY PARTNERS. NORMALLY, SEVERAL THOUSAND VOLUNTEERS WORK TOGETHER TO SORT, PACKAGE AND DISTRIBUTE THE ITEMS TO 2,000 FAMILIES. FROM 2020-2022, FOOD CARDS WERE DISTRIBUTED INSTEAD TO THE FAMILIES BY THE HEAD START SOCIAL WORKERS DUE TO COVID. IN 2023, THE IN-PERSON GIVEAWAY RETURNED BUT ON A SMALLER SCALE SINCE SOME OF THE HEAD START AGENCIES WERE STILL RETICENT TO HAVE SUCH A LARGE SCALE IN-PERSON EVENT. NOTABLY, THE EXPENSES NOTED HERE FOR THE PROGRAM INCLUDE $272,841 IN IN-KIND DONATIONS.


FAMILY ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS: A DIVERSE GROUP OF PROGRAMS THAT PROVIDE A VARIETY OF GOODS, SERVICES, AND ASSISTANCE TO PARENTS AND CHILDREN OF LOW INCOME FAMILIES. THESE PROGRAMS INCLUDE THE EMERGENCY ONGOING PROGRAM, THE USED CLOTHING AND FURNITURE PROGRAM, THE SCHOOLS PROGRAM AND THE SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM.
