TO ACQUIRE AND PRESERVE AMERICA'S MOST IMPORTANT ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES.

ACQUISITION, CONSERVATION, AND MANAGEMENT: DURING THE YEAR ENDED JULY 31, 2023, THE CONSERVANCY COMPLETED THE ACQUISITION OF 17 ENDANGERED ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES WHICH ARE NOW MANAGED AS ARCHAEOLOGICAL PRESERVES. EIGHTEEN MORE SITES AND CONSERVATION EASEMENTS ARE IN VARIOUS STAGES OF ACQUISITION. IN ALL, THE CONSERVANCY HAS PRESERVED OVER 567 ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES ACROSS THE COUNTRY, MAINTAINING SECURITY AND PROVIDING STABILIZATION AND OTHER MAINTENANCE SERVICES ON THE PRESERVES.


EDUCATION: DURING THE YEAR ENDED JULY 31, 2023, THE CONSERVANCY PUBLISHED FOUR ISSUES OF "AMERICAN ARCHAEOLOGY" MAGAZINE, WHICH WERE DISTRIBUTED THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES WITH A TOTAL DISTRIBUTION OF APPROXIMATELY 25,000 COPIES PER ISSUE. IN ADDITION, SIX ARCHAEOLOGICAL TRAVEL SEMINARS WERE CONDUCTED DURING THE FISCAL YEAR.
