WE ENVISION A COMMUNITY WHERE ARTS & CULTURE IS CRITICAL, WHERE CREATIVES THRIVE, AND WHERE ALL PEOPLE CONNECT THROUGH THE ARTS. CULTURAL TOURISM / ARTS & CULTURE PROMOTIONAL MARKETING O MARKETING CAMPAIGNS WORKING IN LOCKSTEP WITH THE PARK CITY CHAMBER'S TARGET MARKETS, THE ARTS COUNCIL PUBLISHES A DIGITAL LOCAL INFLUENCER CAMPAIGN CALLED 'INSIDERS INSIGHTS' TO PROMOTE THE VARIETY OF ARTISTIC AND CULTURAL VENUES AND CURATED 'ART ADVENTURES' IN PARK CITY AND SUMMIT COUNTY. CONTENT INCLUDES DIGITAL ADVERTISING, BOOSTED SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS, AND A DEDICATED SET OF WEB PAGES WITH DETAILED INFORMATION ON THE CULTURAL TOURISM ACTIVITIES AVAILABLE TO VISITORS. TARGETING MARKETS ACROSS THE COUNTRY, WE PROMOTE A SERIES OF CULTURAL EVENTS FROM OUR PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS, AND USE PAID SEARCH TO OPTIMIZE OUR REACH TO TARGETED AUDIENCES. WE WILL CONTINUE TO BUILD THESE CHANNELS TO EXPAND OUR REACH AND ENGAGE WITH OUR AUDIENCE. O WEBSITE OUR MARKETING AND SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGNS SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED THE NUMBER OF VISITORS TO OUR WEBSITE IN THE PAST FEW YEARS. THE SITE SERVES AS A CLEARINGHOUSE AND PLATFORM TO PROMOTE OUR ARTS & CULTURE PROGRAMS AND EVENTS, OFFER INFORMATION TO ARTISTS ABOUT OPEN CALLS, CLASSES, AND GRANTS/RESOURCES, AND TELL STORIES ABOUT PARK CITY AND SUMMIT COUNTY ARTS & CULTURE ASSETS. O EARNED MEDIA WE CONTINUE TO UTILIZE LOCAL MEDIA OUTLETS SUCH AS KPCW TO PROMOTE PARTNER AND SIGNATURE EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES. MANY OF OUR PROGRAMS WERE THE FOCUS OF ARTICLES IN THE PARK RECORD, PARK CITY MAGAZINE, PARK CITY STYLE, AND MOUNTAIN MAGAZINE. O MONTHLY NEWSLETTERS WE RELEASE TWO MONTHLY NEWSLETTERS TO A MAILING LIST OF APPROXIMATELY 5,800 CHAMBER MEMBERS, UTAH MEDIA, ARTISTS, ARTS & CULTURE ORGANIZATIONS, AND KEY COMMUNITY CONTACTS. ONE IS DEDICATED TO ARTS & CULTURE HAPPENINGS AND THE OTHER IS FOCUSED ON RESOURCES AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUR LOCAL CREATIVES. 2. CREATIVE ACTIVITIES/EVENTS/COMMUNITY PROGRAMMING O LATINO ARTS FESTIVAL: THE ARTS COUNCIL HAS TAKEN OVER AS SOLE PRODUCER OF THE LATINO ARTS FESTIVAL, WHICH RETURNS TO A THREE DAY FESTIVAL FORMAT. WE WILL BE SEEKING A SEPARATE PROGRAMMING GRANT FOR THIS EVENT AND OPERATING FUNDS WILL NOT GO TOWARDS THIS PROGRAM. THIS YEAR'S FESTIVAL, BEING HELD IN JUNE 2023, WILL BE HOSTED AT CANYONS VILLAGE AT PARK CITY. THIS EVENT HIRES LOCAL HISPANIC AND LATINX PERFORMERS, MUSICIANS, VISUAL ARTISTS, FOLKLORISTS, AND CHEFS TO CELEBRATE THE BEAUTY OF HISPANIC AND LATINX CULTURE AND CONNECT THE COMMUNITY TO THE CULTURE AND DIVERSITY THAT ALREADY EXISTS IN SUMMIT COUNTY. O SUMMIT ARTS SHOWCASE: THE SUMMIT ARTS SHOWCASE, HELD IN JULY 2023, IS AN ANNUAL JURIED ART SHOWCASE IN OAKLEY, UT THAT BUILDS SUPPORT FOR LOCAL ARTISTS AND CULTIVATES COLLECTORS WHO LIVE ON THE EASTERN SIDE OF SUMMIT COUNTY. THE 2022 SUMMIT ARTS SHOWCASE INCLUDED NEARLY 30 LOCAL ARTISTS, ALONG WITH 3 LOCAL BANDS AND 2 LOCAL FOOD TRUCKS. AS THIS EVENT CONTINUES TO GROW, WE HOPE TO ENGAGE EVEN MORE LOCAL ARTISTS, MUSICIANS, AND FOOD VENDORS TO CREATE A MINI ARTS FESTIVAL FOR EASTERN SUMMIT COUNTY. O SUMMIT COUNTY FAIR ART SHOW: IN AUGUST 2023, WE WILL ONCE AGAIN HOST THE SUMMIT COUNTY FAIR FINE ARTS SHOW. THE 2022 ARTS EXHIBIT INCLUDED 185 SUBMISSIONS FROM 96 LOCAL ARTISTS, AND WE EXPECT SIMILAR NUMBERS OR GREATER IN 2023. WE ALSO WORK ANNUALLY WITH THE SUMMIT COUNTY PUBLIC ART ADVISORY BOARD TO RECOMMEND A YOUTH AND ADULT PIECE FOR PURCHASE BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL TO INCLUDE AS A PERMANENT PART OF THEIR PUBLIC ART COLLECTION. O ART ON THE TRAILS: OUR 2023 ART ON THE TRAILS EVENT IS A CONNECTION OF ART AND NATURE THAT CELEBRATES OUR LOCAL AND REGIONAL PERFORMING ARTISTS. MULTIPLE LIVE PERFORMANCES AND ART INSTALLATIONS ARE PLACED ALONG A SIGNATURE, ACCESSIBLE PARK CITY OUTDOOR TRAIL, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH BASIN RECREATION. O MONSTER DRAWING RALLY: THE 8TH ANNUAL MONSTER DRAWING RALLY WILL BE HELD IN SEPTEMBER OF 2023; THE 2022 RALLY ENGAGED ALMOST 30 LOCAL ARTISTS, WITH 220+ PEOPLE ATTENDING AND 60 PIECES OF ART PURCHASED. ARTISTS MAKE ARTWORK LIVE IN REAL TIME, AND THOSE WORKS ARE IMMEDIATELY AUCTIONED FOR SALE AT AN ACCESSIBLE, FIXED PRICE. THIS APPROACH BUILDS NEW RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN OUR COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND VISUAL ARTISTS AND BREAKS DOWN PERCEIVED SOCIO-ECONOMIC BARRIERS TO COLLECTING ART. O MAKERS MARKET (PREVIOUSLY BRAND PC): THE 2022 BRAND PC HOLIDAY MAKERS MARKET WAS A MONTH-LONG SHOWCASE OF ARTISANAL GOODS THAT GENERATED OVER 109,000 IN SALES FOR NEARLY 70 LOCAL ARTISTS AND MAKERS. WE WERE ABLE TO DISPLAY CLOTHING, VISUAL ART, JEWELRY, GIFTS, AND FOOD AT OUR CREATE PC POP-UP LOCATION AT 660 MAIN STREET, WHICH ALLOWED US TO SHOWCASE MORE ARTISTS THAN PREVIOUS YEARS. O CREATE PC: CREATE PC IS A LOCAL ARTIST COLLECTIVE THAT HAS BEEN ALMOST CONTINUOUSLY OPEN SINCE JUNE OF 2020, EXISTING IN DIFFERENT SPACES AROUND PARK CITY'S HISTORIC MAIN STREET. USUALLY OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK, IT HOSTS THE WORK OF 40-50 SUMMIT COUNTY ARTISTS. THIS ARTIST CO-OP OFFERS A PLATFORM FOR LOCAL CREATIVES TO DISPLAY AND SELL THEIR VISUAL ART. WE ARE CURRENTLY IN A TRANSITION PERIOD AS WE SEARCH FOR A NEW LOCATION TO HOUSE THIS PROGRAM, AND ARE LOOKING TO HAVE IT RUNNING AGAIN BY THE END OF 2023. WE ARE COMMITTED TO PROVIDING A SPACE FOR OUR LOCAL ARTISTS, AND ARE WORKING CLOSELY WITH THE PARK CITY ARTIST ASSOCIATION TO DETERMINE LOCAL NEEDS. O WINTER ARTS SHOWCASE: IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE PARK CITY ARTIST ASSOCIATION, THE ARTS COUNCIL HELD OUR ANNUAL WINTER ARTS SHOWCASE IN FEBRUARY 2023. HOSTED AT UTAH FILM STUDIOS OVER PRESIDENTS' DAY WEEKEND, THIS SHOWCASE PRESENTS ROUGHLY 30 LOCAL ARTIST BOOTHS FROM OAKLEY, KAMAS, WANSHIP, HENEFER, AND PARK CITY FOR THE EXHIBITION AND SALE OF ARTWORK. O ART & MUSIC GALLERY STROLLS: FOR THE 2023 MARCH AND SEPTEMBER GALLERY STROLL EVENTS, THE ARTS COUNCIL PARTNERS WITH MOUNTAIN TOWN MUSIC AND THE PARK CITY GALLERY ASSOCIATION TO BRING LIVE MUSIC PERFORMANCES TO ART GALLERIES ON MAIN STREET. THESE EVENTS HELP TO STRENGTHEN OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHER LOCAL ART ORGANIZATIONS, AND TO CREATE CONNECTIONS BETWEEN OUR LOCAL MUSICIANS AND GALLERISTS. O DA DE LOS MUERTOS: THE ARTS COUNCIL PILOTED OUR FIRST EVER DA DE LOS MUERTOS EVENT ON NOVEMBER 2, 2022 IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PCMC/BONANZA ART PARK AND ARTES DE MXICO EN UTAH. THE EVENT WAS PROGRAMMED TO BE A GATHERING SPACE FOR THE LATINX COMMUNITY TO CELEBRATE AND HONOR THE TRADITIONALLY MEXICAN DA DE LOS MUERTOS HOLIDAY, ALTHOUGH MANY LATIN AMERICAN COUNTRIES HONOR THE DAY IN A VARIETY OF WAYS. THE EVENT WAS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. ANDREA AND CHARLENE OVERSAW THE EVENT DETAILS, PARTNERSHIPS, OUTREACH, AND MARKETING OF THE EVENT, ENSURING THAT OUR LOCAL LATINX GROUPS AND BUSINESSES WERE INVITED AND WELCOMED. OVER 200 PEOPLE ATTENDED THIS PILOT EVENT, AND 87% OF ATTENDEES WERE LATINX. WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO PRODUCING THIS EVENT AGAIN IN 2023 DUE TO ITS SUCCESS. O PUBLIC ART ACTIVITIES: THE ARTS COUNCIL MANAGES THE PLANNING, OPERATIONS, AND OUTREACH FOR THE SUMMIT COUNTY PUBLIC ART BOARD ('SCPAAB'), AND EXECUTES PUBLIC ART PROJECTS INDEPENDENTLY FROM THE SCPAAB ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS. THIS PAST YEAR WE SUPPORTED THE SCPAAB IN THE EXECUTION OF MULTIPLE PROJECTS INCLUDING THE CONTINUATION OF THE SUMMIT COUNTY COLLECTION TRAVELING EXHIBIT, POP-UP ART PIANO PERFORMANCES FEATURING UTAH SYMPHONY | UTAH OPERA MUSICIANS THIS PAST SUMMER, AND THE JUNE 2022 INSTALLATION OF A HISTORICAL MURAL IN HOYTSVILLE. ON BEHALF OF SCPAAB, THE ARTS COUNCIL ALSO MANAGES THE DIGITAL ARCHIVE FOR THE SUMMIT COUNTY ART COLLECTION, WHICH PROMOTES BROADER ACCESSIBILITY OF UNIQUE, REGIONAL ARTWORKS BY UTAH ARTISTS. IN 2023, SCPAAB WILL CONTINUE TO PRODUCE ART PIANO POP-UP CONCERTS AND TRAVELING EXHIBITS, INCLUDING A SPECIAL EXHIBIT FEATURING THE COLLECTION OF GEORGE BEARD PHOTOGRAPHS CURRENTLY HOUSED AT THE LEDGES EVENT CENTER. ADDITIONALLY, AN INTERACTIVE SCULPTURE INSPIRED BY THE GEOGRAPHY OF THE LEDGES AND ITS HISTORICAL PETROGLYPH ART WILL BE INSTALLED AT LEDGES EVENT CENTER IN AUGUST 2023, AND WE ARE IN CONVERSATION WITH LOCAL INDIGENOUS GROUPS ABOUT HOW TO INVOLVE THEM IN THE COMMUNITY WORKSHOP PROCESS THAT WILL ACCOMPANY THE CREATION OF THE SCULPTURE, AND ARE ENGAGED IN RESEARCH ON THE COMMUNITIES INVOLVED IN THE CREATION OF THE HISTORICAL PETROGLYPHS. WE ALSO CONTINUE TO SERVE AS AN ADVISOR AND LIAISON TO THE PARK CITY PUBLIC ART ADVISORY BOARD; WE ATTEND MONTHLY MEETINGS, SUPPORT THEIR VISIONING AND STRATEGIC PLANNING WORK, AND HELP CONNECT THEIR EFFORTS AND PRIORITIES TO OTHER COMMUNITY ARTS & CULTURE ACTIVITIES TO CREATE A REGIONAL APPROACH TO PUBLIC ART.
