THE MISSION OF THE ART COUNCIL OF PARK CITY & SUMMIT COUNTY IS TO SERVE OUR ARTS & CULTURE COMMUNITY BY DRIVING CREATIVE PROGRAMMING, PROVIDING VALUABLE RESOURCES, AND CULTIVATING CONNECTIONS. WE ENVISION A COMMUNITY WHERE ARTS & CULTURE IS CRITICAL, WHERE CREATIVES THRIVE, AND WHERE ALL PEOPLE CONNECT THROUGH THE ARTS. WE EXECUTE THIS WORK THROUGH FOUR CORE AREAS OF WORK: PROGRAMMING, MARKETING, PUBLIC ART, AND PLANNING/ADVOCACY ACTIVITIES.

CULTURAL TOURISM / MARKETING MARKETING CAMPAIGNS WORKING IN LOCKSTEP WITH THE PARK CITY CHAMBER'S TARGET MARKETS, THE ARTS COUNCIL PUBLISHES A DIGITAL LOCAL INFLUENCER CAMPAIGN CALLED INSIDERS INSIGHTS TO PROMOTE THE VARIETY OF ARTISTIC AND CULTURAL VENUES AND CURATED ART ADVENTURES IN PARK CITY AND SUMMIT COUNTY. CONTENT INCLUDES DIGITAL ADVERTISING, BOOSTED SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS, AND A DEDICATED SET OF WEB PAGES WITH DETAILED INFORMATION ON THE CULTURAL TOURISM ACTIVITIES AVAILABLE TO VISITORS. TARGETING MARKETS ACROSS THE COUNTRY, WE PROMOTE A SERIES OF CULTURAL EVENTS FROM OUR PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS, AND USE PAID SEARCH TO OPTIMIZE OUR REACH TO TARGETED AUDIENCES. SOCIAL MEDIA WE HAVE A STRONG SOCIAL MEDIA PRESENCE WITH 14,000+ FACEBOOK FOLLOWERS AND A GROWING INSTAGRAM FEED OF 2,000+ FOLLOWERS. BOTH REFLECT IMAGERY AND CREATIVE CONTENT HIGHLIGHTING OUR COMMUNITY'S ARTS & CULTURE ACTIVITY. WE ALSO HAVE AN ACTIVE TWITTER STREAM TO PROVIDE UPDATED NEWS AND EVENTS. WE WILL CONTINUE TO BUILD THESE CHANNELS TO EXPAND OUR REACH AND ENGAGE WITH OUR AUDIENCE. WEBSITE OUR MARKETING AND SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGNS SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED THE NUMBER OF VISITORS TO OUR WEBSITE IN THE PAST FEW YEARS. THE SITE SERVES AS A CLEARINGHOUSE AND PLATFORM TO PROMOTE OUR ARTS & CULTURE PROGRAMS AND EVENTS, OFFER INFORMATION TO ARTISTS ABOUT OPEN CALLS, CLASSES, AND GRANTS/RESOURCES, AND TELL STORIES ABOUT PARK CITY AND SUMMIT COUNTY ARTS & CULTURE ASSETS. OUR WEBSITE CREATEPC.ORG ACTS AS AN E-COMMERCE ART SALES PLATFORM FOR LOCAL ARTISTS TO ALLOW FOR CONTINUED SALES OUTSIDE OF PHYSICAL ART EVENTS, IN THE EVENT OF FUTURE LOCKDOWNS OR OTHER UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES. EARNED MEDIA WE CONTINUE TO UTILIZE LOCAL MEDIA OUTLETS SUCH AS KPCW TO PROMOTE PARTNER AND SIGNATURE EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES. MANY OF OUR PROGRAMS WERE THE FOCUS OF ARTICLES IN THE PARK RECORD, PARK CITY MAGAZINE, PARK CITY STYLE, AND MOUNTAIN MAGAZINE. MONTHLY NEWSLETTERS WE RELEASE TWO MONTHLY NEWSLETTERS TO A MAILING LIST OF APPROXIMATELY 2,500 CHAMBER MEMBERS, UTAH MEDIA, ARTISTS, ARTS & CULTURE ORGANIZATIONS, AND KEY COMMUNITY CONTACTS. ONE IS DEDICATED TO ARTS & CULTURE HAPPENINGS AND THE OTHER IS FOCUSED ON RESOURCES AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUR LOCAL CREATIVES. 2. CREATIVE ACTIVITIES/COMMUNITY PROGRAMMING SUMMIT COUNTY FAIR ART SHOW: IN AUGUST 2022, WE WILL ONCE AGAIN HOST THE SUMMIT COUNTY FAIR FINE ARTS SHOW. THE 2021 ARTS EXHIBIT INCLUDED 44 SUBMISSIONS FROM 26 LOCAL ARTISTS, AND WE EXPECT SIMILAR NUMBERS OR GREATER IN 2022. WE ALSO WORK ANNUALLY WITH THE SUMMIT COUNTY PUBLIC ART ADVISORY BOARD TO RECOMMEND A YOUTH AND ADULT PIECE FOR PURCHASE BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL TO INCLUDE AS A PERMANENT PART OF THEIR PUBLIC ART COLLECTION. WINTER ARTS SHOWCASE: IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE PARK CITY PROFESSIONAL ARTIST ASSOCIATION, THE ARTS COUNCIL WILL HOLD OUR ANNUAL WINTER ARTS SHOWCASE IN FEBRUARY 2023. NORMALLY, THE SHOW TAKES PLACE AT THE PARK CITY COMMUNITY CHURCH OVER PRESIDENTS' DAY WEEKEND AND HOSTS AROUND 30 LOCAL ARTIST BOOTHS FROM OAKLEY, KAMAS, WANSHIP, HENEFER, AND PARK CITY FOR THE EXHIBITION AND SALE OF ARTWORK. MONSTER DRAWING RALLY: THE 7TH ANNUAL MONSTER DRAWING RALLY WILL BE HELD IN JUNE OF 2022; THE 2021 RALLY ENGAGED ALMOST 30 LOCAL ARTISTS, WITH 220+ PEOPLE ATTENDING AND 46 PIECES OF ART WERE PURCHASED. ARTISTS MAKE ARTWORK LIVE IN REAL TIME, AND THOSE WORKS ARE IMMEDIATELY AUCTIONED FOR SALE AT AN ACCESSIBLE, FIXED PRICE. THIS APPROACH BUILDS NEW RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN OUR COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND VISUAL ARTISTS AND BREAKS DOWN PERCEIVED SOCIO- ECONOMIC BARRIERS TO COLLECTING ART. LATINO ARTS FESTIVAL: THE ARTS COUNCIL PARTNERED ONCE AGAIN WITH THE CHRISTIAN CENTER OF PARK CITY TO SUPPORT THE PLANNING OF THE 2022 LATINO ARTS FESTIVAL, A SIX DAY EVENT WHICH HIRES LOCAL LATINX PERFORMERS, MUSICIANS, VISUAL ARTISTS, FOLKLORISTS, AND CHEFS TO CELEBRATE THE BEAUTY OF LATINX CULTURE AND CONNECT THE COMMUNITY TO THE CULTURE AND DIVERSITY THAT ALREADY EXISTS IN SUMMIT COUNTY. SUMMIT ARTS SHOWCASE: THE 2021 SUMMIT ARTS SHOWCASE WAS MOVED COMPLETELY OUTDOORS TO SUPPORT SOCIAL DISTANCING DUE TO COVID PRECAUTIONS. 20 SUMMIT COUNTY ARTISTS HOSTED FINE ART BOOTHS AT THE OAKLEY RED BARN SELLING THEIR WORK AND DEMONSTRATING THEIR TALENTS VIA LIVE ART ACTIVATIONS. WE ALSO HAD 3 DIFFERENT LOCAL BANDS PLAY THROUGHOUT THE 2-DAY EVENT IN JUNE, ALONG WITH FOOD TRUCKS. WE ALSO CONNECTED WITH A LOCAL MENTAL HEALTH ORGANIZATION CALLED CONNECT SUMMIT COUNTY TO PROMOTE THE BENEFITS OF CREATIVITY AND MENTAL HEALTH. BRAND PC: THE 2021 BRAND PC HOLIDAY POP-UP SHOP WAS A MONTH-LONG SHOWCASE OF ARTISANAL GOODS THAT GENERATED OVER 52,000 IN SALES FOR OVER 40 LOCAL ARTISTS AND MAKERS. WE WERE ABLE TO DISPLAY CLOTHING, VISUAL ART, JEWELRY, GIFTS, AND FOOD AT THE PARK CITY OUTLETS. CREATE PC: CREATE PC IS A LOCAL ARTIST COLLECTIVE THAT HAS BEEN ALMOST CONTINUOUSLY OPEN SINCE JUNE OF 2020, EXISTING IN DIFFERENT SPACES AROUND PARK CITY'S HISTORIC MAIN STREET. IT IS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK AND HOSTS THE WORK OF 40-50 SUMMIT COUNTY ARTISTS, OFFERING A PLATFORM FOR LOCAL CREATIVES TO DISPLAY AND SELL THEIR VISUAL ART. THE PROGRAM HAS BEEN AN ONGOING WAY TO SERVING LOCAL ARTISTS, EXECUTED BASED ON IN-KIND VENUE AVAILABILITY. WE ALSO MAINTAIN CREATEPC.ORG, AN E-COMMERCE ART SPACE TO PROMOTE ONLINE SALES OF LOCAL ART TO MAINTAIN SOME MOMENTUM WITH THE PROGRAM VIRTUALLY. ART ON THE TRAILS: OUR 2022 ART ON THE TRAILS EVENT WILL, BARRING FURTHER COVID RESTRICTIONS, FOLLOW 2021 WITH A RETURN TO OUR NORMAL PERFORMANCE- DRIVEN EXPERIENCE, WITH MULTIPLE LIVE PERFORMANCES AND ART INSTALLATIONS PLACE ALONG AN OUTDOOR TRAIL YEAR, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH BASIN RECREATION. BONANZA ART PARK: IN AUGUST 2021, THE ARTS COUNCIL, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PARK CITY MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, INVITED SUMMIT COUNTY ARTISTS AND/OR ARTIST TEAMS TO APPLY FOR THE BONANZA PARK PAINT OUT TO CREATE A SERIES OF TEMPORARY OUTDOOR ART PROJECTS FOR THE TEMPORARY BONANZA ART PARK SITE ON THE CORNER OF MUNCHKIN RD. AND BONANZA DR. THE PROJECT AIMED TO CELEBRATE CONNECTION, ART, CULTURE, AND COMMUNITY IN PARK CITY, UT. OUR GOAL WAS TO HIGHLIGHT OUR LOCAL CREATIVE TALENT AND BRING ADDITIVE VIBRANCY TO THE TEMPORARY BONANZA ART PARK SITE TO ENGAGE, CONNECT, AND INSPIRE THE COMMUNITY THROUGH THE CELEBRATION OF LOCAL ARTS AND CULTURE. 11 LOCAL ARTISTS AND ARTIST TEAMS WERE SELECTED AS THEIR ARTWORK CONVEYED THE THEME OF "ART CONNECTS US", REFLECTING VALUES OF KINDNESS, CONNECTEDNESS, COMPASSION, AND TOGETHERNESS. WE WANTED THE ARTWORK TO CREATE AND CELEBRATE A STRONG SENSE OF PLACE, RECOGNIZING THE STRONG ARTS AND CULTURAL VIBRANCY OF PARK CITY, UT, AND ENGAGE THE VIEWER DURING THE PROJECT'S INSTALLATION AND BEYOND. THERE HAS BEEN INTEREST IN RECREATING THE ART PARK FOR SUMMER/FALL OF 2022. 3. PUBLIC ART PROGRAMMING O PARK CITY PUBLIC ART ADVISORY BOARD (PCPAAB): WE CONTINUE TO SERVE AS AN ADVISOR AND LIAISON TO THE PCPAAB; WE ATTEND MONTHLY MEETINGS, SUPPORTED THEIR VISIONING AND STRATEGIC PLANNING WORK, AND HELPED CONNECT THEIR EFFORTS AND PRIORITIES TO OTHER COMMUNITY ARTS AND CULTURE ACTIVITIES. O SUMMIT COUNTY PUBLIC ART ADVISORY BOARD (SCPAAB): THE ARTS COUNCIL ASSUMED ADMINISTRATION OF SCPAAB IN AUGUST OF 2017, MANAGING THE PLANNING, OPERATIONS, AND OUTREACH FOR THE GROUP. THIS PAST YEAR WE SUPPORTED THE BOARD IN THE EXECUTION OF MULTIPLE PROJECTS INCLUDING THE CONTINUATION OF THE SUMMIT COUNTY COLLECTION TRAVELING EXHIBIT, POP-UP ART PIANO PERFORMANCES FEATURING UTAH SYMPHONY | UTAH OPERA MUSICIANS THIS PAST SUMMER, AND THE FORTHCOMING JUNE 2022 INSTALLATION OF A HISTORICAL MURAL IN HOYTSVILLE. THE BOARD IS ALSO CURRENTLY WORKING WITH A COLLECTIONS ARCHIVIST TO DIGITIZE AND ARCHIVE THE ENTIRE SUMMIT COUNTY PUBLIC ART COLLECTION TO PROMOTE BROADER ACCESSIBILITY. 4. PLANNING AND ADVOCACY PARK CITY ARTS AND CULTURE EFFORTS THE ARTS COUNCIL CONTINUES TO SUPPORT THE PARK CITY MUNICIPAL CORPORATION (PCMC) STAFF AND COUNCIL ON THEIR EFFORTS TO KEEP ARTS & CULTURE TO A TOP PRIORITY AND WORKS WITH THE CONSULTANTS THEY HIRED TO SCOPE A VISION FOR A NEW ARTS & CULTURE DISTRICT IN PARK CITY. ARTS & ECONOMIC PROSPERITY 6 STUDY THE ARTS COUNCIL IS DEEPLY INVOLVED IN IMPLEMENTING THE AMERICANS FOR THE ARTS SIXTH NATIONAL STUDY OF THE ECONOMIC IMPACT OF THE NONPROFIT ARTS & CULTURE INDUSTRY IN SUMMIT COUNTY. WE LOOK FORWARD TO PARTICIPATING IN THE STUDY TO GAIN IN-DEPTH INSIGHTS INTO THE IMPACT OF SUMMIT COUNTY'S ARTS & CULTURE ECOSYSTEM. THE STUDY WILL RESULT IN A FINAL CUSTOMIZED REPORT BASED ON SURVEY DATA AND AN ECONOMIC INPUT-OUTPUT MODEL TAILORED FOR OUR LOCAL ECONOMY. THIS DATA WILL REINFORCE THE FACT THAT AN INVESTMENT IN ARTS & CULTURE PROVIDES BOTH CULTURAL AND ECONOMIC BENEFITS FOR OUR COMMUNITY. FISCAL SPONSORSHIP WE SERVE AS A FISCAL SPONSOR FOR LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS PURSUING FUNDING FOR THEIR ARTS & CULTURE INITIATIVES.
