IN 2022 WE PUBLISHED A 5-PART SPECIAL SERIES ON THE HERMITS PEAK FIRE, AND THE DEVASTATING IMPACTS ON THE LOCAL COMMUNITIES. OUR REPORTING UNCOVERED SYSTEMIC FAILURES IN THE METROPOLITAN DETENTION CENTER OF ALBUQUERQUE. WE PUBLISHED AN INVESTIGATION INTO MATERNAL HEALTH THAT EXPOSED A SEVERE LACK OF RESOURCES, AND FREQUENT BAD OUTCOMES FOR MOTHERS IN NEW MEXICO. FINALLY, OUR INVESTIGATIONS HAVE HIGHLIGHTED NUMEROUS POTENTIAL PITFALLS OF THE PLUTONIUM PIT PRODUCTION EXPANSION PROPOSED FOR LOS ALAMOS. OUR STORIES WERE PUBLISHED BY EVERY NEWS OUTLET IN NEW MEXICO AND BEYOND, INCLUDING THE GUARDIAN, USA TODAY, THE ROLLING STONE AND OTHER NATIONAL PUBLICATIONS.
