SUPPORTIVE HOUSING FOR SENIORS:ALA PROVIDES SUPPORTIVE HOUSING FOR SENIORS AND WAS ABLE TO HAVE 95% RETENTION DURING THE YEAR IN SPITE OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. FUNDED THROUGH GRANTS DURING THE YEAR, ALA PROPERTY MANAGEMENT AND SOCIAL SERVICES STAFF HAD FREQUENT AND REGULAR COMMUNICATION AND SPECIAL ACTIVITIES REGARDING COVID POLICIES, PROPERTY MANDATES, DISTRIBUTION OF PPE, EQUIPMENT, AND MONTHLY CLEANING SERVICES TO MITIGATE THE THREAT AND KEEP RESIDENTS SAFE. THERE WERE NO REPORTED INCIDENCES ACROSS ALA PROPERTIES.
SHARED HOUSING:SHARED HOUSING GAINED TRACTION WITH AFFORDABLE HOUSING ADVOCACY FORUMS AND VARIOUS ADVOCACY GROUPS SUCH AS 'AGING IN PLACE' GROUPS. THE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS' AFFORDABLE HOUSING MOTION, CALLED OUT 'SHARED HOUSING' AS A STRATEGY THAT SHOULD BE PART OF THE COUNTY'S OVERALL PLAN TO ADDRESS THE SHORTAGE OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING. AS SUCH, THE SHARED HOUSING MODEL HAS BEEN ENDORSED BY CITY STAFF WORKING TO CREATE HOUSING OPTIONS FOR LOW, MODERATE-INCOME AND AT-RISK SENIORS. IN ADDITION, STAFF DELIVERED ONGOING SUPPORT TO EXISTING MATCHES TO HELP PARTICIPANTS RESOLVE ISSUES OR FIND SUITABLE ALTERNATIVES.
