THE PURPOSE OF THE SANTA CLARITA VALLEY HISTORICAL SOCIETY IS TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE IDENTIFICATION, ACQUISITION, DEVELOPMENT, RESTORATION, PRESERVATION, MAINTENANCE, CATALOGING, AND CONSERVATION OF HISTORICAL SITES, ARTIFACTS, AND STRUCTURES WITHIN THE SANTA CLARITA VALLEY. WHILE DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, ALL OF OUR SCHEDULED PUBLIC EVENTS WERE CANCELED, IT HAS GIVEN US THE OPPORTUNITY TO WORK ON THE PRESERVATION OF THE HISTORICAL PROPERTIES AT HERITAGE JUNCTION. WE HAVE MADE SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS ON VARIOUS MAINTENANCE PROJECTS RELATED TO OUR STRUCTURES AND ARE CONTINUING A VERY LONG AND INVOLVED PLAN OF MAINTENANCE AND RESTORATION.WE ALSO HAVE A FULL TIME ARCHIVIST WHO IS CATALOGING AND SCANNING OUR HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF IMAGES RELATING TO THE HISTORY OF THE SANTA CLARITA VALLEY. THIS IS AN ONGOING PROJECT BUT WE ARE DETERMINED TO HAVE DIGITAL RECORDS OF OUR COLLECTION PRESERVED FOR GENERATIONS TO COME.
