SAN DIEGO KIND CORPORATION, A CA NON PROFIT ORGANIZATION, OWNED AND OPERATED A SECTION 202 FEDERAL HOUSING PROJECT FOR OVER THIRTY-SEVEN YEARS. THE LOW INCOME ELDERLY PROJECT WAS SOLD/TRANSFERRED TO HDP, THE NON PROFIT ARM OF THE SAN DIEGO HOUSING COMMISSION, THE PUBLIC HOUSING AUTHORITY FOR THE CITY OF SAN DIEGO IN 2014, THEREBY PRESERVING LOW INCOME ELDERLY RENTALS FOR AN ADDITIONAL FIFTY-FIVE YEARS. PRIOR TO THE SALE/TRANSFER OF THIS HUD PROJECT, SAN DIEGO KIND CORPORATION NEGOIATED A FIFTEEN YEAR RENTAL AGREEMENT WITH A NONPROFIT SERVICE ORGANIZATION. THE ORGANIZATION CONTRIBUTES TO OTHER LOW INCOME HOUSING PROJECTS TO CREATE AND DEVELOP HOUSING AND SERVICES FOR THE LOW INCOME ELDERLY.
