ROSE BOWL GAME - THE ASSOCIATION, WITH ITS VOLUNTEER MEMBERSHIP, ORGANIZES AND CONDUCTS THE ANNUAL COLLEGIATE POSTSEASON FOOTBALL ROSE BOWL GAME ON NEW YEAR'S DAY. ON JANUARY 1, 2024, THE ASSOCIATION HOSTED THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF SEMIFINAL AT THE ROSE BOWL GAME ("CFP GAME").THE CFP GAME SHOWCASED TWO OF THE COUNTRY'S TOP FOUR COLLEGIATE TEAMS IN A POST-SEASON MATCH UP, INCLUDING THE #1 AND #4 TEAMS, IN FRONT OF APPROXIMATELY 87,000 LIVE VIEWERS. THE GAME WAS ALSO TELEVISED LIVE ON ESPN TO OVER 19 MILLION VIEWERS.
ROSE PARADE - THE ASSOCIATION WITH ITS VOLUNTEER MEMBERSHIP, ORGANIZES AND CONDUCTS THE ANNUAL ROSE PARADE ON NEW YEAR'S DAY. SINCE 1889, THE ASSOCIATION HAS STAGED THIS PREMIERE EVENT THAT SHOWCASES MARCHING BANDS AND EQUESTRIAN UNITS FROM AROUND THE WORLD IN ADDITION TO THE TRADITION AND PAGEANTRY OF ITS MAGNIFICENT FLORAL FLOATS.
OTHER ASSOCIATION EVENTS - THE ASSOCIATION, IN ITS EFFORTS TO PROMOTE THE CITY OF PASASDENA, ITS SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES AND ITS CULTURE, ORGANIZES SEVERAL EVENTS RELATING TO THE ROSE PARADE AND ROSE BOWL GAME. THESE EVENTS CONSIST OF FLOATFEST ,(VIEWING OF THE FLOATS ON CITY STREETS AFTER THE PARADE IS ENDED), FLOAT DECORATING (VIEWING OF THE FLOATS IN THE FINAL DECORATION STAGES), BANDFEST (SHOWCASE OF THE ROSE PARADE BANDS AT PASADENA CITY COLLEGE), EQUESTFEST (SHOWCASE OF THE ROSE PARADE EQUESTRIAN UNITS AT THE LA EQUESTRIAN CENTER), ROSE QUEEN ANNOUNCEMENT AND CORONATION CEREMONY, AND THE GRANDADDY TAILGATE. IT IS THE INTENT OF THE ASSOCIATION TO PROVIDE AN ENVIROMENT IN WHICH THE BENEFITS FROM THE PARTICIPATION AND CONTRIBUTION OF A SOCIALLY, CULTURALLY DIVERSE MEMBERSHIP, THAT IS REPRESENTATIVE OF THE GREATER COMMUNITY, ARE REFLECTED IN ITS ORGANIZATION, STRUCTURE, EVENTS, AND ACTIVITIES.
