WE SERVED 163 HOUSEHOLDS THROUGH OUR HOUSING PROGRAM, PROVIDING OVER $137K IN FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. THROUGH OUR EMERGENCY SHELTER PROGRAM, WE SERVED 85 WOMEN AND CHILDREN, SERVED 10,617 MEALS, PROVIDED 3,514 BED NIGHTS AND ANSWERED 1,593 HOTLINE CALLS. WE OFFERED SEAMLESS ROUND THE CLOCK DIRECT HYBRID SERVICES TO MEET SURVIVORS' NEEDS DURING COVID-19 AND WERE RECOGNIZED WITH THE 2020 NONPROFIT OF THE YEAR FOR ASSEMBLY DISTRICT 43 FOR THIS WORK. GIRLS COME FROM FAMILIES WHO IDENTIFY AS LOW TO VERY LOW INCOME. ADVANCING RACIAL JUSTICE: WE ENGAGED 2,498 PARTICIPANTS THROUGH EVENTS AND DIRECT-ACTION CAMPAIGNS AND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES. THIS INCLUDED OUR ADVOCACY TO PASS A HISTORIC SUNDOWN TOWN RESOLUTION IN THE CITY OF GLENDALE, OUR CO-FOUNDING OF THE COALITION FOR AN ANTI-RACIST GLENDALE, LAUNCHING AN INAUGURAL 21 DAY RACIAL EQUITY AND SOCIAL JUSTICE CHALLENGE, AND HOLDING A VIRTUAL STAND AGAINST RACISM STOP AAPI HATE EVENT. OUR RACIAL JUSTICE WORK WAS RECOGNIZED WITH THE 2020 NONPROFIT OF THE YEAR FOR ASSEMBLY DISTRICT 43. OUR RACIAL JUSTICE PROGRAMMING IS A HYBRID OF EDUCATION AND POLICY ADVOCACY WORK TO ADDRESS THE CONDITIONS THAT GIVE RISE TO THE DEMAND FOR OUR SERVICES. THROUGH DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION TAILORED CONSULTATIONS AND RACIAL AND GENDER EQUITY TRAININGS AND CAMPAIGNS, WE SUPPORT INDIVIDUALS, BUSINESSES, SCHOOLS, ORGANIZATIONS, AND COMMUNITY GROUPS IN ADDRESSING BIASES AND RACISM BY CREATING OPPORTUNITIES FOR LEARNING, CONNECTION AND GROWTH THAT PROMOTE ANTI-RACISM AND JUSTICE. OUR POLICY ADVOCACY WORK INCLUDES OUR ROLE AS LEAD ORGANIZATION AND HOME TO THE COALITION FOR AN ANTI-RACIST GLENDALE AND OUR WORK TO IMPLEMENT YWCA USA'S POLICY AGENDA AT THE LOCAL LEVEL. COMPOSED OF COMMUNITY AND FAITH LEADERS, PARENTS, STUDENTS, ACTIVISTS AND COMMITTED COMMUNITY MEMBERS, THE COALITION IS SETTING A CITYWIDE AGENDA TO BECOME A MORE JUST AND EQUITABLE GLENDALE, THROUGH ADVANCING SYSTEMIC CHANGE IN HOUSING, EMPLOYMENT, AND POLICING TO POSITIVELY IMPACT THE CITY'S 200,000 RESIDENTS AND 100,000 EMPLOYEES. THE COALITION DRAFTED, ADVOCATED FOR, AND SAW THE SUCCESSFUL PASSAGE OF THE CITY'S HISTORIC SUNDOWN TOWN RESOLUTION, FORMALLY ACKNOWLEDGING, APOLOGIZING, AND ATONING FOR ITS PAST AS A SUNDOWN TOWN. THE RESOLUTION NOW SERVES AS AN ADVOCACY TOOL FOR ACCOUNTABILITY TO DRIVE INSTITUTIONAL CHANGES PROMOTING EQUITY AND INCLUSION IN GLENDALE. WE ALSO SUPPORT LOCAL, STATEWIDE, AND NATIONAL POLICY INITIATIVES TIED TO YWCA USA'S POLICY AGENDA.
