Part 3 - Line 4a
RACIAL EQUITY IN HOMELESSNESS INITIATIVE: THE RACIAL EQUITY IN HOMELESSNESS INITIATIVE TAKES A THREE-PRONGED APPROACH TO SHIFTING THE CULTURE AND WORKFORCE OF THE HOMELESS RESPONSE SYSTEM, THROUGH RECRUITMENT OF A DIVERSE TALENT POOL, HIGHLIGHTING AND SUPPORTING LEADERS WHO CENTER A RACIAL JUSTICE LENS, AND RETAINING TOP TALENT BY CREATING AN INCLUSIVE AND EQUITABLE CULTURE. WE HOST RECRUITMENT EVENTS TO DRAW LEADERS OF COLOR INTO LEADERSHIP-LEVEL POSITIONS IN THE SECTOR, A RACIAL EQUITY FELLOWSHIP FOR MID-LEVEL LEADERS IN THE SECTOR READY TO STEP INTO EXECUTIVE LEVEL POSITIONS, AND TRAINING AND SUPPORTS FOR C-SUITE LEADERS TO INTEGRATE AN EQUITY LENS INTO THEIR ORGANIZATION'S CULTURE AND WORK. IN A TYPICAL YEAR, WE HOST OUR FLAGSHIP FAST PITCH PROGRAM AND EVENT, 10 WEEKS OF TRAINING AND INDIVIDUALIZED COACHING FOR OUR SYSTEMS CHANGE ACCELERATOR LEADERS ON HOW TO SUCCINCTLY AND POWERFULLY TELL THEIR STORY IN A THREE-MINUTE ELEVATOR PITCH. THE TRAINING PROGRAM CULMINATES IN AN EVENT ATTENDED BY 100S OF ANGELENOS WHERE WE SPOTLIGHT THE SYSTEMS CHANGE LEADERS AND RAISE FUNDS TO COLLECTIVELY SUPPORT THEIR WORK. SINCE THE PROGRAM BEGAN IN 2008, FAST PITCH ALUMNI HAVE RAISED OVER $4.5M THAT THEY ATTRIBUTE TO THEIR FAST PITCH EXPERIENCE. IN ADDITION, THE PROGRAM HAS BEEN REPLICATED BY 19 OTHER ORGANIZATIONS IN THE U.S. AND CANADA.
