DURING THE YEAR THE TRUST PROVIDED GRANT FUNDING TO THE CALIFORNIA COOPERATIVE RICE RESEARCH FOUNDATION, INC., #94-1230307, A 501(C) (5) ORGANIZATION, IN THE AMOUNT OF $222,345.ADDITIONALLY, THE TRUST PROVIDES SCHOLARSHIPS. THESE SCHOLARSHIPS ARE GIVEN TO FULL-TIME GRADUATE OR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS ENROLLED IN THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA OR CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY SYSTEMS WITH DEMONSTRATED INTEREST IN PURSUING STUDIES IN RICE IMPROVEMENT, PROTECTION, MANAGEMENT OR UTILIZATION. ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AND A GRADE POINT AVERAGE THAT QUALIFIES FOR ENTRANCE TO GRADUATE SCHOOL. ONE SCHOLARSHIP WAS AWARDED THIS YEAR.
