WORKSHOPS & WEBINARS: A WIDE RANGE OF IN-PERSON WORKSHOPS, MULTI-DAY IN-PERSON CONFERENCES AND VIRTUAL EVENTS ARE OFFERED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. SOME OF THE RECURRING EVENTS INCLUDE: BROWNFIELDS 101 - COVERS A RANGE OF SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS NEEDED TO BRING BROWNFIELDS PROJECTS IN ON-TIME AND ON-BUDGET. REDEVELOPMENT COVERS ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE, REMEDIATION AND REVITALIZATION STRATEGIES, SUSTAINABILITY, AND MARKETING AND DEVELOPMENT. MEET THE FUNDERS BRINGS TOGETHER STATE, FEDERAL AND NONPROFIT AGENCIES SO ORGANIZATIONS HAVE DIRECT ACCESS TO REPRESENTATIVES. CUSTOM TRAININGS CAN COVER SITE ASSESSMENT, ENVIRONMENTAL CLEANUP AND REMEDIATION, NEGOTIATION, AND RISK MANAGEMENT.
TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE: CCLR IS THE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO BROWNFIELDS COMMUNITIES (TAB) PROVIDER TO EPA REGIONS 2, 9 AND 10, SERVING THE STATES AND TERRITORIES OF AK, AMERICAN SAMOA, AZ, CA, CNMI, GUAM, HI, ID, NV, NJ, NY, OR, PR, THE VI, AND WA. THE GOAL OF CCLR AS A TAB PROVIDER IS TO GUIDE COMMUNITIES THROUGH THE COMPLEX PROCESSES AND REQUIREMENTS PARTICULAR TO LAND RECYCLING. THE CCLR ASSISTANCE ENABLES COMMUNITIES TO INDEPENDENTLY MANAGE THE ENVIRONMENTAL AND FINANCIAL CHALLENGES OF LAND RECYCLING AND LEVERAGE SIGNIFICANT RESOURCES. THE CCLR TEAM HAS WORKED WITH A RANGE OF COMMUNITIES, INCLUDING RURAL AREAS STRUGGLING WITH ECONOMIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL CHALLENGES OF CLOSED MILLS OR RAIL SITES, TRIBAL LANDS STRIVING FOR REVITALIZATION AND URBAN NEIGHBORHOODS WORKING TO REMOVE BLIGHT CAUSED BY SITES WITH PRIOR INDUSTRIAL USES. TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE SERVICES INCLUDE: GRANT REVIEW AND MANAGEMENT, RESOURCE CREATION AND DISSEMINATION, SOCIAL MEDIA AND BROWNFIELDS UPDATES, ONE-ON-ONE ASSISTANCE, END-USE VISIONING, AND MORE.
OTHER PROGRAMS: ADVOCACY: CCLR ADVOCATES FOR IMPROVED LAND REUSE FUNDING AND POLICIES AT THE FEDERAL AND STATE LEVEL, PARTICULARLY IN CA AND NY. TOPICS OF ADVOCACY INCLUDE PROTECTING FUNDING FOR THE U.S. EPAS BROWNFIELDS PROGRAM, FUNDING FOR COMMUNITY-BASED REUSE PLANNING IN NEW YORK STATE AND A VARIETY OF FUNDING AND REUSE INCENTIVE PROGRAMS IN CALIFORNIA. EVALUATION: CCLR REACHED OUT TO PAST ASSISTED COMMUNITIES/PROJECTS TO COLLECT DATA ON REDEVELOPMENT OUTCOMES AND MEASURE PROGRESS. CCLR REVIEWS FEEDBACK FROM POST-EVENT EVALUATIONS TO INFORM FUTURE TA/PROGRAMMING PRIORITIES, GUIDE MODIFICATIONS IN THE TA DELIVERY STRATEGY, AND ENSURE THAT TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE REMAINS TIMELY, EFFECTIVE, AND APPROPRIATELY ADDRESSES COMMUNITY NEED. STRATEGIC INITIATIVES: CCLR SEEKS TO BUILD RELATIONSHIPS WITH ENTITIES AND/OR STAKEHOLDERS THAT CAN POTENTIALLY BRING NEW OR ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE TO CCLRS SUITE OF PROGRAMMING AND EXPAND CCLRS REACH AND IMPACT TO REDEVELOPMENT PRACTITIONERS ACROSS THE COUNTRY.
