BERKELEY HIGH SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT GROUP'S MISSION IS TO SUPPORT AND STRENGTHEN THE EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE OF ALL BHS STUDENTS BY RAISING AND DISTRIBUTING FUNDS TO ENHANCE ACADEMIC AND OTHER PROJECTS.

THE BERKELEY HIGH SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT GROUP BHSDG RECEIVED AND PROCESSED APPROXIMATELY $479,890 IN DONATIONS AND OTHER REVENUES DURING THE 2021.2022 SCHOOL YEAR. APPROXIMATELY 76% OF THIS REVENUE ($367,675) WAS DIRECTED TO OR EARNED BY BHSDG TO BE DISTRIBUTED BY OUR BOARD. FROM THESE UNRESTRICTED REVENUES, BHSDG PROVIDED FUNDING FOR ACADEMIC, ARTISTIC AND CLUB PROGRAMS AT BERKELEY HIGH SCHOOL BHS. ONGOING BHSDG INITIATED PROGRAMS INCLUDE: * FIRST STEP SCHOLARSHIPS TO QUALIFIED COLLEGE-BOUND SENIORS - $27,750 * CLASSROOM SUPPLIES GRANTS AVAILABLE TO ALL TEACHERS - $35,771 * TECHNOLOGY - SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE - $20,138 * STUDENT ORGANIZERS AVAILABLE FREE TO ALL STUDENTS - $17,000 * COLLEGE & CAREER SUPPORT THROUGH COLLEGE APPLICATION AND TESTING FEES - $23,500. * EQUITY PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT - $10,000 OTHER BHSDG GRANTS INCLUDED * SENIOR YARD SIGNS - $4546 * ASIAN AMERICAN PACIFIC ISLANDER CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT - $2978 *FIELD TRIPS (A'S GAME) - $10,500 * BHSDG RECEIVED APPROXIMATELY $112,214 IN DONATIONS EARMARKED FOR SPECIFIC LEARNING COMMUNITIES AND DEPARTMENTS. BHSDG ACTS AS A FISCAL AGENT FOR THESE FUNDS, AT NO COST, PROVIDING A SIGNIFICANT BENEFIT TO THESE PROGRAMS. THE LEAD TEACHERS OF THESE PROGRAMS DETERMINE HOW TO USE THE DONATIONS. THE FUNDS WERE USED FOR A WIDE RANGE OF EDUCATIONAL AND ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITIES. * THE BHSDG'S FUNDRAISING AND ADMINISTRATIVE EXPENSES WERE $23,040 FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR, WHICH WAS APPROXIMATELY 7% OF TOTAL EXPENSES.
