SAN FRANCISCO CASA (FORMERLY SAN FRANCISCO COURT APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATES) TRANSFORMS THE LIVES OF SYSTEMS-INVOLVED AND OTHER VULNERABLE CHILDREN, YOUNG ADULTS AND THEIR FAMILIES BY PROVIDING CONSISTENT, CARING VOLUNTEER ADVOCATES TRAINED TO ADDRESS EACH CHILD'S NEEDS IN THE COURT AND THE COMMUNITY.

SFCASAS 371 VOLUNTEERS PROVIDED ONE-ON-ONE MENTORING AND ADVOCACY TO 396 FOSTER YOUTH. CASA VOLUNTEERS ARE SWORN OFFICERS OF THE COURT, TRAINED TO MENTOR AND ADVOCATE FOR THE BEST INTERESTS OF FOSTER YOUTH IN THE DEPENDENCY SYSTEM. THEY ADVOCATE THROUGH COURT REPORTS SUBMITTED DIRECTLY TO THE JUDGE OVERSEEING THE CASE, AS WELL AS WORKING DIRECTLY WITH SCHOOLS, SOCIAL WORKERS AND HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS. SFCASA CONTINUES TO UTILIZE AND BUILD UPON ITS FIRST-OF-ITS-KIND IMPACT MEASUREMENT AND LEARNING SYSTEM TO MORE FULLY UNDERSTAND THE PROGRESS OF EACH YOUTH AND THE IMPACT OF ITS ADVOCACY AND MENTORING PROGRAM OVERALL.
