Part 3 - Line 4a
AS A PART OF ITS MISSION, UC PRESS FOUNDATION SEEKS FOUR TYPES OF FUNDING TO SUPPORT THE PUBLISHING PROGRAMS OF UC PRESS. THEY INCLUDE: 1) MAJOR ENDOWMENT AND CURRENT USE GIFTS TO SUPPORT SPECIFIC PUBLISHING PROGRAMS AND INITIATIVES; 2) TITLE SUBSIDIES TO PARTIALLY UNDERWRITE THE DEVELOPMENT AND PRODUCTION OF SPECIFIC BOOKS; 3) ANNUAL GIFTS TO BUILD A DONOR/MEMBERSHIP BASE FOR UC PRESS; AND 4) GENERAL OPERATING GRANTS. THE FOUNDATION MAINTAINS A MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM OF APPROXIMATELY 150 MEMBERS, AND IN FY 2020-21 SUPPORTED APPROXIMATELY 100 UC PRESS PUBLICATIONS AND THE PUBLISHING PROGRAM AS A WHOLE. EVEN WITH THE PANDEMIC AND ALL THE DIFFICULTIES FOUNDATION CONTINUED ITS WORK AND RAISED FUNDS.
