SINCE 1978, THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION HAS HELPED ECC PROVIDE HIGH QUALITY CHILD CARE TO LOW-INCOME FAMILIES THAT MAY NOT HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO RECEIVE SERVICES WITHIN THE COMMUNITY. ECC OPERATES SEVEN CENTERS AND SERVE APPROXIMATELY 350 CHILDREN DAILY, ALONG WITH AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMMING FOR CHILDREN AGES FIVE TO TWELVE. SINCE OUR BEGINNING, PART OF THE CULTURE AND FOCUS OF ECC HAS BEEN TO MINIMIZE OUR ADMINISTRATIVE EXPENSES. THIS ALLOWS ECC TO PROVIDE THE HIGHEST QUALITY CHILD CARE DIRECTLY TO THE COMMUNITY MEMBERS WE SERVE, AND ALLOWS ECC TO HAVE A GREATER REACH WITHIN THE SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES.

NUTRITIONAL FOOD SERVICES ARE PROVIDED TO CHILDREN ENROLLED IN ECC'S PROGRAM TO PROVIDE HEALTHY, NUTRITIOUS AND DELICIOUS MEALS TO THE CHILDREN, WHILE TEACHING THE CHILDREN ABOUT PROPER EATING HABITS. WITHOUT OUR NUTRITIONAL FOOD PROGRAM, MANY OF OUR 350 CHILDREN WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO RECEIVE THE PROPER DAILY NUTRITION, WHICH CAN HINDER THEIR CHANCES OF SUCCESS IN THE FUTURE.
