IN YEARS NOT IMPACTED BY SHUTDOWNS DUE TO COVID 19, NEVADA BALLET THEATRE ORGANIZES, PROMOTES AND PRESENTS ABOUT 22 PERFORMANCES OVER 4 PROGRAMS WHICH INCLUDE MIXED REPERTORY BALLETS AS WELL AS FULL-LENGTH WORKS INCLUDING THE HOLIDAY CLASSIC, THE NUTCRACKER. WITH THE MAJORITY OF PROGRAMS TAKING PLACE AT THE WORLD-CLASS SMITH CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS, NEVADA BALLET THEATRE REACHES THOUSANDS OF COMMUNITY MEMBERS ANNUALLY. IN ADDITION, NEVADA BALLET THEATRE'S PROFESSIONAL FACILITY SERVES AS A REHEARSAL SPACE.
THE ACADEMY OF NEVADA BALLET THEATRE IS CONSIDERED THE FINEST SCHOOL FOR BALLET AND DANCE INSTRUCTION IN THE LAS VEGAS VALLEY AND IS THE ONLY BALLET SCHOOL AFFILIATED WITH A PROFESSIONAL BALLET COMPANY. REACHING MORE THAN 300 STUDENTS, THE ACADEMY OF NEVADA BALLET THEATRE PROVIDES BOTH PRE- PROFESSIONAL AND RECREATIONAL DANCE INSTRUCTION AND IN YEARS NOT IMPACTED BY SHUTDOWNS DUE TO COVID 19, SHOWCASES ITS WORK THROUGH VARIOUS STUDENT RECITAL PROGRAMS.
NEVADA BALLET THEATRE'S COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAM PROVIDES NOT ONLY DANCE EDUCATION PROGRAMS TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC, BUT FOCUSES ON PROVIDING DANCE INSTRUCTION FOR AT-RISK CHILDREN AT A VARIETY OF SCHOOLS AND OTHER LOCATIONS IN THE LAS VEGAS VALLEY. IN YEARS NOT IMPACTED BY SHUTDOWNS DUE TO COVID 19, REACHING MORE THAN 20,000 STUDENTS ANNUALLY THROUGH A VARIETY OF INITIATIVES, THE DANCE INSTRUCTION PORTION OF THE PROGRAM CULMINATES IN ANNUAL RECITALS FEATURING MORE THAN 1,200 STUDENT PARTICIPANTS.
