PRIMARY CARE MEDICAL SERVICES, INCLUDING PEDIATRICS, ADULT AND GERIATRIC CARE, ARE PROVIDED BY A TEAM OF LICENSED PHYSICIANS, NURSE PRACTITIONERS, NURSES AND SUPPORT STAFF; ADDITIONAL MEDICAL SERVICES INCLUDE CHIROPRACTIC AND ACUPUNCTURE, PODIATRY AND SPECIALTY CARE. SERVICES ALSO INCLUDE DENTAL CARE, WHICH IS PROVIDED BY A TEAM OF DENTISTS AND SUPPORT STAFF. AXIS PROVIDED OVER 40,000 MEDICAL AND DENTAL VISITS IN THE FISCAL YEAR.
INTEGRATED BEHAVIORAL HEALTH: AXIS COMMUNITY HEALTH MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES PROVIDE GROUP AND INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING AND EDUCATION ASSISTANCE. WOMEN, INFANT, CHILDREN (WIC: THE WOMEN, INFANTS AND CHILDREN SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION PROGRAM (WIC)) HELPS ELIGIBLE FAMILIES IMPROVE THEIR HEALTH STATUS THROUGH BETTER NUTRITION, SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD AND REFERRALS TO HEALTH CARE SERVICES. THE WIC PROGRAM PROVIDED OVER 8,400 ELIGIBLE FAMILIES IN THE TRI-VALLEY AREA WITH: FOOD VOUCHERS NUTRITION COUNSELING AND EDUCATION BY A REGISTERED DIETITIAN BREAST FEEDING AND INFANT NUTRITION CLASSES AND SUPPORT ELECTRIC BREAST PUMP LOAN PROGRAM REFERRALS TO HEALTH AND COMMUNITY SERVICES FARMERS MARKET COUPONS (MAY-SEPTEMBER).
