THE PURPOSE IS TO ENCOURAGE, PROMOTE, AND ASSIST IN IMPROVING SCIENCE TEACHING AND LEARNING THROUGHOUT OREGON. HOST AN ANNUAL CONFERENCE AND DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS. ALSO, SUPPORTS DIACK ECOLOGY EDUCATION PROGRAMS THAT PROVIDES EQUIPMENT GRANTS AND HOSTS WORKSHOPS.

OREGON SCIENCE TEACHERS ASSOCIATION'S SUPPORTED THE NATIONAL SCIENCE TEACHERS ASSOCIATION IN IT'S HOSTING OF IT'S ANNUAL CONFERENCE. THE CONFERENCE CONTINUES TO PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR TEACHERS AND SUPPORTERS TO VIRTUALLY LEARN ABOUT VARIOUS SCIENCE AND TEACHING TOPICS AND PROVIDE NETWORKING AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES. OREGON SCIENCE TEACHERS ASSOCIATION PROVIDED AN AWARDS EVENING THAT HIGHLIGHTS SCIENCE TEACHERS AND PRESENTS SCHOLARSHIPS FOR CONFERENCE ATTENDANCE AND MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS.
DIACK ECOLOGY EDUCATION PROGRAMS PROVIDES GRANTS TO SCHOOLS AND STUDENTS FOR EQUIPMENT TO SUPPORT FIELD-BASED RESEARCH PROGRAMS. DUE TO COVID-19, DIACK WAS NOT ABLE TO HOST ITS SUMMER WORKSHOPS BUT DID CONTINUE TO PROVIDE GRANTS DURING THE YEAR.
