FOLLOWING THE AUGUST 2023 GRAY ROAD AND OREGON ROAD FIRES IN SPOKANE COUNTY, THE SPOKANE REGION LONG TERM RECOVERY GROUP WAS FORMED TO COORDINATE RECOVERY SERVICES AND RESOURCES FOR INDIVIDUALS, FAMILIES, BUSINESS AND THE COMMUNITIES ADVERSELY AFFECTED. REGULAR MEETINGS WERE HELD WITH SPOKANE COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AND LOCAL AREA NONPROFIT AND RELIGIOUS AGENCIES TO ADDRESS IMMEDIATE EMERGENCY NEEDS, INCLUDING TEMPORARY HOUSING, HAZARD TREE/DEBRIS REMOVAL, FOOD, CLOTHING, GAS CARDS, UTILITY HOOK-UPS, PROPANE, AND RV WINTERIZATION, AMONG OTHER UNMET NEEDS.
