PSI PROVIDES POSTPARTUM SUPPORT TRAINING TO PROFESSIONALS AND LAY VOLUNTEERS. THE PSI WEBSITE AT WWW.POSTPARTUM.NET PROVIDES INFORMATION ON ALL FORMS OF PERINATAL MOOD AND ANXIETY DISORDERS ALONG WITH REFERRALS TO LOCAL RESOURCES FOR CONSUMERS AND PROFESSIONALS. THE PSI SOCIAL SUPPORT NETWORK PROVIDES A NETWORK WHERE PSI MEMBERS, AREA COORDINATORS AND VOLUNTEERS IN ALL 50 STATES, THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, PUERTO RICO AND 40 COUNTRIES WORLDWIDE PROVIDE EMOTIONAL SUPPORT THROUGH GROUPS, EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION AND REFERRAL TO LOCAL PROFESSIONALS FOR POSTPARTUM FAMILIES IN THEIR AREAS.
THE ORGANIZATION OPERATES AND MANAGES THE NATIONAL MATERNAL MENTAL HEALTH HOTLINE. THIS HOTLINE PROVIDES 24/7, FREE, CONFIDENTIAL SUPPORT BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER PREGNANCY. THIS PROVIDES CALLERS WITH PHONE OR TEXT ACCESS TO PROFESSIONAL COUNSELORS, REAL-TIME SUPPORT AND INFORMATION, RESPONSES WITHIN A FEW MINUTES, 24 HOURS A DAY, 7 DAYS A WEEK, WITH TRAINED, CULTURALLY SENSITIVE SUPPORT.
