ARTFUL ACTIVISM - BACKBONE CAMPAIGN SUPPORTED COMMUNITIES ACROSS THE US WITH CREATIVE PROPS, TRAINING IN HOW TO GET A MESSAGE OUT USING LIGHTS AND BANNERS, FROM THE FRONTLINES OF LINE 3 TO THE UN COP, FROM ADVOCATING FOR WILD SALMON TO STANDING WITH TRIBES AND THEIR SACRED TREATY RIGHTS.
SOLUTIONARY RAIL - BACKBONE CAMPAIGN'S SOLUTIONARY RAIL PROJECT CREATED A PROTOTYPE OF A US EXTERNAL COST OF FREIGHT CALCULATOR, AND ADVOCATED FOR SENSIBLE RAIL SOLUTIONS TO THE MANY CRISES FACING US, INCLUDING THE CLIMATE CRISIS, SUPPLY CHAIN ISSUES, POLLUTION, AND CONGESTION. WE STOOD WITH SURFACE TRANSPORTATION BOARD CHAIRMAN MARTIN OBERMAN IN DEMANDING THAT RAIL BE HELD TO ITS PUBLIC INTEREST AND COMMON CARRIER OBLIGATIONS, INSTEAD OF WALL STREET PROFITEERING.
LOCAL RESILIENCE AND EDUCATION EVENTS - BACKBONE CAMPAIGN HOSTED A NUMBER OF FREE EDUCATIONAL TEACH-INS, GREW ITS COMMUNITY TIME BANK, AND SCREENED FILMS VIRTUALLY WITH PANEL DISCUSSIONS ON RELEVANT TOPICS. WE SUPPORTED SEVERAL FIX IT CAFES AND OTHER EVENTS TO BUILD A LOCAL, CIRCULAR ECONOMY.
