MERIDIAN PARK MEDICAL FOUNDATION'S MISSION IS TO ADVANCE THE PATIENT CARE, EDUCATION AND TECHNOLOGY IN MEDICAL SCIENCE AT LEGACY MERIDIAN PARK HOSPITAL. IT ALSO ENCOURAGES CHARITABLE GIVING AND PROVIDES FAITHFUL STEWARDSHIP OF THE COMMUNITY'S PHILANTHROPY.

CHARITABLE GIFTS TO MERIDIAN PARK MEDICAL FOUNDATION SUPPORT THE PROGRAMS AND SERVICES OF LEGACY MERIDIAN PARK MEDICAL CENTER, MANY OF WHICH ARE NOT SUPPORTED BY TRADITIONAL MEANS OF REIMBURSEMENT.LEGACY MERIDIAN PARK MEDICAL CENTER, WHICH OPENED IN 1973, HAS CONTINUALLY EXPANDED TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE FAST-GROWING SOUTHERN METROPOLITAN AREA. LEGACY MERIDIAN PARK PROVIDES MEDICAL CARE TO THE OREGON COMMUNITIES OF TUALATIN, TIGARD, WEST LINN, SHERWOOD, WILSONVILLE, AND BEYOND. THE HOSPITALS COMPREHENSIVE SERVICES INCLUDE:* BREAST HEALTH CENTER* CANCER SERVICES* HEART SERVICES & CARDIAC REHABILITATION* PEDIATRIC AND ADULT REHABILITATION* STROKE PROGRAM* TOTAL JOINT CENTER* FAMILY BIRTH CENTERIN ADDITION, THE FOUNDATION SUPPORTS SEVERAL LEGACY HEALTH PRIMARY AND SPECIALTY CARE CLINICS IN THE SOUTHERN PORTLAND METROPOLITAN AREA.IN FISCAL YEAR 2021, PHILANTHROPIC CONTRIBUTIONS SUPPORTED PROGRAMS IN FOUR MAJOR AREAS:PATIENT CARE $174,891EDUCATION AND TRAINING $27,611COMMUNITY BENEFIT & OTHER PROGRAMS $22,248SOME OF THE SPECIFIC PROJECTS FUNDED IN THIS YEAR WERE AS FOLLOWS: PROVIDED FUNDING TO SUPPORT THE HOSPITALS COVID-19 PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE. PURCHASED A PORTABLE HEART MONITOR FOR PATIENT TRANSPORT. SUPPORTED A QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT RELATED TO REDUCE PRESSURE ULCERS. FUNDED CARDIAC AND PULMONARY REHABILITATION FOR PATIENTS WITHOUT INSURANCE OR OTHER FINANCIAL MEANS. PROVIDED EMERGENCY MEDICATIONS, DURABLE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT, AND OTHER HEALTH- RELATED SUPPLIES TO UNINSURED, UNDER-INSURED, AND LOW-INCOME PATIENTS. SUPPORTED COMPLEMENTARY THERAPIES FOR CANCER PATIENTS INCLUDING NUTRITION EDUCATION, EXERCISE, ART THERAPY AND YOGA CLASSES. PURCHASED SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT TO SUPPORT PEDIATRIC REHABILITATION THERAPIES FOR CHILDREN. SUPPORTED CHILD PASSENGER SAFETY SEAT ACTIVITIES FOR THE COMMUNITY.
