PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION PROVIDING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SPECIFICALLY TO SCHOOL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION. THROUGH THESE ACTIVITIES THE ORGANIZATION SUPPORTS PUBLIC EDUCATIO AND THE BETTERMENT OF SCHOOL BUSINESS MANAGEMENT.

OASBO CONDUCTS MULTIPLE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. THE PRIMARY CONFERENCE IS HELD IN JULY AND SPANS 2 1/2 DAYS. ATTENDANCE GENERALLY AVERAGES ABOUT 300 OF OUR 425 MEMBERS. WE ALSO CONDUCT A ONE DAY TRAINING IN NOVEMBER THAT IS GENERALLY ATTENDED BY 180 OF OUR MEMBERS. WE HOST AN ANNUAL WINTER CONFERENCE IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE SUPERINTENDENT'S ASSOCIATION WHICH FOCUSES ON BUDGET AND IS ATTENDED BY APPROXIMATELY 150 MEMBER. IN THE SPRING WE HOLD REGIONAL MEETINGS THAT SPAN A SINGLE DAY WITH OVERALL ATTENDANCE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD OF 250 INDIVIDUALS. FINALLY OASBO OFFERS A NEW BUSINESS MANAGER INSTITUTE. THE PROGRAM IS SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED FOR NEW PRACTIONERS AND SPANS THREE FULL YEARS. THE INSTITUTE TYPICALLY INCLUDES 15-20 MEMBERS IN EACH ANNUAL COHORT. DUE TO COVID THE ASSOCIATION WAS FORCED TO MODIFY OUR OFFERINGS IN 2020 AND HOSTED MOST OF OUR EVENTS UTILIZING A VIRTUAL PLATFORM.
OASBO RECEIVED A GRANT FROM THE OREGON SCHOOL BOARDS ASSOCIATION FOR THE EXPRESS PURPOSE OF ACQUIRING A SUITE OF DATA ANALYTIC TOOLS FOR UTILIZATION BY EVERY DISTRICT IN OREGON. THESE FUNDS WERE DISBURSED AND REDUCED THE COST TO EACH DISTRICT IN OREGON THAT ACQUIRED ONE OR MORE OF THESE PRODUCTS. THIS IS A THREE YEAR PROGRAM WHICH ENDS IN 2020. WE DO ANTICIPATE CONTINUATION OF THE PROGRAM IN THE FUTURE ALTHOUGH IT MAY BE AT A DIFFERENT FINANCIAL LEVEL.
OASBO PROVIDES MANAGEMENT CONSULTING AND INTERIM BUSINESS MANAGER SERVICES FOR SCHOOL DISTRICT OPERATIONS ORGANIZED AND CONDUCTED BY THE ASSOCIATION. SERVICES ARE PROVIDED AS REQUESTED BY SCHOOL DISTRICTS UTILIZING A POOL OF RETIRED BUSINESS OFFICIALS.
