EASTERN OREGON REGIONAL ARTS COUNCIL HAS ADVANCED ITS MISSION TO "INSPIRE INTEREST AND PARTICIPATION IN THE ARTS IN OUR RURAL COMMUNITIES THROUGH EDUCATION, EXHIBITS, AND CULTURAL EXPERIENCES." IT IS A COMMUNITY-BASED ARTS ORGANIZATION, OFFERING ACCESSIBLE ARTS PROGRAMMING.

EASTERN OREGON REGIONAL ARTS COUNCIL (DBA ART CENTER EAST)MANAGES AND COORDINATES A WIDE RANGE OF ON-SITE ART CLASSES YEAR-ROUND FOR YOUTH AND ADULTS, INCLUDING UNDER-SERVED/'AT-RISK' POPULATIONS THROUGH VARIOUS COUNTY/CITY AGENCY PARTNERSHIPS. OFFERINGS INCLUDE: ART CLASSES, MUSIC ENSEMBLES & PRIVATE LESSONS, WELLNESS & MOVEMENT CLASSES. THE CENTER SERVES AS THE AREA'S ONLY PUBLIC EXHIBIT VENUE FOR WORKING ARTISTS. THE GALLERY SERVES MULTIPLE PURPOSES: TO SUPPORT WORKING ARTISTS AND TO OFFER COMMUNITY MEMBERS A CHANCE TO LEARN ABOUT AND ENGAGE WITH FINE ARTS. WORKING ARTISTS ARE ABLE TO SELL THEIR WORK THROUGH EXHIBITING IN ONE OF THE TWO GALLERY SPACES OR IN THE GIFT GALLERY. THE CENTER ALSO MANAGES A REGIONAL OUTREACH PROGRAM CALLED ARTISTS IN RURAL SCHOOLS (AIRS), BRINGING SEQUENTIAL ARTS LEARNING EXPERIENCES TO LOW-INCOME SCHOOLS (TITLE I). AIRS PLACES TEACHING ARTISTS THROUGHOUT ITS 10-COUNTY SERVICE AREA IN EASTERN OREGON TO WORK WITH K-12 STUDENTS.
