DIRECT SERVICES - RESPONDING TO A WIDE RANGE OF STUDENT REQUESTS BY EVENTS. CO-SPONSORED ANNUAL STUDENT LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE, OSA INTERNSHIP AND SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAMS, AND PUBLISHED MANY REPORTS AND PUBLICATIONS, INCLUDING STUDENT HANDBOOK FOR VOTER REGISTRATION FOR STUDENT GOVERNMENT LEADERS, GRASSROOTS ORGANIZING TRAINING CURRICULUMS, AND PROVIDED ABOUT 400 LEADERSHIP WORKSHOPS FOR STUDENTS AT ALL OF OUR MEMBER INSTITUTIONS.


PUTTING ON VARIOUS EVENTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF STUDENTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, INCLUDING THREE CANDIDATE ROUNDTABLES, ONE CANDIDATE TOWN HALL, AND ONE LOBBY DAY THAT CONNECTED STUDENTS TO OVER 40 DIFFERENT LEGISLATORS.


ADVOCACY - CONDUCTING RESEARCH AND IMPLEMENTING OUR LEGISLATIVE AGENDA IN THE STATE CAPITOL, FOCUSING ON EQUAL ACCESS TO A QUALITY AND AFFORDABLE POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION. ATTEND TO ISSUES OF TUITION AND FINANCIAL AID. WORK TO IMPROVE VOTER REGISTRATION AND STUDENT FEES. THE ASSOCIATION SERVES ALL STUDENTS FROM OREGON'S PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES AND COMMUNITY COLLEGES. APPROXIMATELY 70,000 FULL TIME EQUIVALENT STUDENTS FOR THE 2021-2022 ACADEMIC YEAR.


EDUCATION - EDUCATING STUDENTS ABOUT ISSUES AFFECTING THEM THROUGH SEMINARS, PUBLICATIONS, AND ELECTRONIC MEDIA. OFFERING SKILLS TRAINING FOR EFFECTIVE ORGANIZING, CULTURAL COMPETENCY, AND LEADERSHIP EFFORTS. RESEARCH INTO STUDENTMENTAL HEALTH RESOURCE NEEDS, ASSESSING NEEDS OF STUDENTS OF COLOR AND LGBTQ STUDENTS, AND REVIEWING TENURE AND FACULTY REWARDS SYSTEMS, OSA SURVEY OF STUDENT OPINION ON PRIORITY ISSUES FOR THE ORGANIZATION.
