IN 2023, THE HFCBC ADVANCED ITS MISSION OF EDUCATING STAKEHOLDERS OF THE BENEFITS OF HYDROGEN FUEL CELL ELECTRIC BUSES AND RELATED INFRASTRUCTURE PROMOTING KEY ADVANCES IN HYDROGEN-BASED FUELS AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF RELATED INFRASTRUCTURE BY PROVIDING IN-DEPTH COMMENT LETTERS AND COMMUNICATING WITH FEDERAL OFFICIALS ON IMPORTANT POLICIES. IT MADE STRIDES IN ADVOCATING FOR CONTINUED ADVANCED APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE LOW-NO EMISSIONS BUS GRANT PROGRAM AS THIS FUNDING HELPS BOTH TYPES OF ZERO-EMISSION BUSES, WORKING TO ENSURE THAT LOW-NO AWARDS ARE FAIRLY DISTRIBUTED BY , EDUCATING HILL STAFF AND OTHERS IN THE EFFORT TOWARDS REASONABLE HYDROGEN PRODUCTION TAX CREDIT RULES THAT STIMULATE A HYDROGEN ECONOMY, ADVOCATING FOR MORE FEDERAL FUNDING TO EXPAND THE DOE DEMAND INITIATIVE TO SUBSIDIZE THE PRICE OF HYDROGEN, AND BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS WITH MORE MEMBERS OF CONGRESS TO INCREASE ISSUE-AWARENESS AND BROADEN SUPPORT FOR HYDROGEN.
THE HFCBC HOSTED AN ANNUAL MEETING ON OCTOBER 8, 2023, FOR ITS MEMBERS WHICH INCLUDED A SUMMARY OF OUR RECENT ACTIVITIES SUCH AS SUBMITTING COMMENTS TO IRS IN SUPPORT OF CERTAIN 45V TAX CREDIT REGULATIONS,CONNECTING AAGENCIES WITH REGIONAL H@HUBS ADMINISTERED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY, AND PODCAST APPEARANCES FROM BROAD MEMBERS. DURING THE MEETING, THERE WAS AN ELECTION FOR THE BOARDS, AND A Q&A WITH BRUCE ROBINSON, ASSOCIATE ADMINISTROTOR FOR PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT FROM THE FEDERAL TRASIT ADMINISTRATION.
HYDROGEN 101 PANEL IN ORLANDO ON OCTOBER 10TH. THE HFCBC ORGANIZED A PANEL WITH REPRESENTATIVES FROM THE COUNCIL AND ANOTHER TRANSPORTATIN NONPROFIT FOR CURRENT AND PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS AT A NATIONAL TRANSPORTATION CONFERENCE THAT HAD OVER 60 ATTENDEES. IT FEATURED PRESENTATIONS FROM HFCBC MEMBERS ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCE WITH MANAGING A FUEL CELL FLEET IN DIFFERENT GEOGRAPHIES, CLIMATES, AND ROUTES. THIS EVENT EDUCATED MEMBERS AND NONMEMBERS ALIKE ABOUT THE NECESSARY QUESTIONS THAT NEED TO BE ANSWERED BEFORE PURSUING A HYDROGEN PROGRAM.
