Part 3 - Line 4a

IN 2023, SHELTERWELL DEVELOPED LIVESTEADY, A SEVEN-LESSON TENANT CURRICULUM. BY PARTNERING WITH LOCAL NONPROFITS, OUR CLIENT ADVOCATES GUIDE TENANTS THROUGH VARIOUS TOPICS, INCLUDING FINANCIAL LITERACY, FINDING A RENTAL, THE APPLICATION PROCESS, MAINTAINING A HOME, COMMUNICATION, AND OVERCOMING CHALLENGES. LESSONS ARE TAUGHT IN PERSON WITH ONE-HOUR SESSIONS, AND STUDENTS RECEIVE A WORKBOOK. ONLINE CLASSES CAN BE MADE AVAILABLE IF NEEDED. ONCE PARTICIPANTS COMPLETE THE COURSE, THEY RECEIVE A CERTIFICATE TO SHOW LANDLORDS WHAT THEY'VE LEARNED. 45% OF TIME AND RESOURCES WERE USED FOR THIS PROGRAM.

SHELTERWELL'S EVICTION PREVENTION TEAM ATTENDS THE OKLAHOMA COUNTY FORCIBLE ENTRY AND DETAINER DOCKET DAILY TO PROVIDE MEDIATION SERVICES. OUR TRAINED MEDIATORS HELP TENANTS AND LANDLORDS NEGOTIATE DISAGREEMENTS AND CREATE A FRAMEWORK FOR FUTURE COMMUNICATION THROUGH MEDIATION, BOTH BEFORE AND AFTER AN EVICTION IS FILED. 20% OF TIME AND RESOURCES WERE USED FOR THIS PROGRAM IN 2023.

SHELTERWELL COLLECTS AND ANALYZES DATA TO SHARE INSIGHTS TO RAISE COMMUNITY AWARENESS AND IMPROVE HOUSING STABILITY IN OKLAHOMA. OUR EVICTION PREVENTION TEAM GATHERS FIRSTHAND INFORMATION WHILE ATTENDING FORCIBLE ENTRY AND DETAINER HEARINGS. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION IS COLLECTED FROM THE OKLAHOMA STATE COURTS NETWORK WEBSITE, OSCN.NET. 15% OF TIME AND RESOURCES WERE USED FOR THIS PROGRAM IN 2023.
