CENTRAL OKLAHOMA HABITAT FOR HUMANITY IS A NONPROFIT, ECUMENICAL CHRISTIAN HOUSING MINISTRY WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH GOD AND THE COMMUNITY TO BUILD SIMPLE, DECENT, AFFORDABLE HOUSING, AND TO PROVIDE HOPE FOR RESPONSIBLE, HARD-WORKING, LIMITED INCOME FAMILIES IN SUBSTANDARD CONDITIONS.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
TWENTY-NINE LIMITED INCOME HOMEOWNERS PURCHASED HOUSES IN THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2022. THESE WERE NEW HOUSES BUILT BY CENTRAL OKLAHOMA HABITAT FOR HUMANITY. THESE HOUSES ARE BUILT USING SOME DONATED MATERIALS AND LABOR AND SOLD AT COST AT A BELOW MARKET INTEREST RATE. MORTGAGE PAYMENTS ARE RECYCLED TO HELP BUILD MORE NEW HOMES, REDUCING OUR NEED FOR FUNDRAISING.
MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS SUCH AS AMORTIZATION OF MORTGAGE DISCOUNT, SALE OF TAX CREDITS, ENERGY REBATES, AS WELL AS OTHER PROGRAM EXPENSE AND INCOME.
WEATHERIZATION AND/OR REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED FOR FOURTEEN LOW-INCOME HOMEOWNERS BEGINNING JULY 1, 2021 AND ENDING JUNE 30, 2022. DURING FYE 06/30/2022 CONTRIBUTIONS TOTALED $28,500.
THE CENTRAL OKLAHOMA HABITAT FOR HUMANITY RESTORE SELLS NEW AND USED BUILDING MATERIALS, INCLUDING DONATED GOODS. THIS HELPS TO RECYCLE ITEMS WHICH WOULD OTHERWISE END UP IN LANDFILLS. THE NET PROFIT FROM THE RESTORE IS USED TO BUILD NEW HOUSES AND HELP FUND "BRUSH WITH KINDNESS". GROSS REVENUES ON PURCHASED INVENTORY TOTALED $2,054,599 AND EXPENSES NETTED WITH REVENUE WERE $1,117,600 FOR GROSS PROFIT OF $936,999.
