TO PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS, EDUCATIONAL EVENTS & INDUSTRY OUTREACH, INFORMATION DONATIONS, RESEARCH & PROMOTION OF THE WASHINGTON WINE & GRAPE INDUSTRY.

Part 3 - Line 4a

IN 2022, THE WASHINGTON WINE INDUSTRY FOUNDATION AWARDED $46,000 IN SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS TO 11 STUDENTS PURSUING CAREERS IN THE WINE INDUSTRY. THE FOUNDATION HOSTED TWO FUNDRAISERS: OUR PARTY AND AUCTION AND OUR 21ST ANNUAL WINE CUP GOLF TOURNAMENT TO RAISE FUNDS FOR GENERAL OPERATING SUPPORT AND THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM. THE FOUNDATION CONTINUED WORK FOR A GRANT FROM USDA APHIS FARM BILL FY 2018 AND A NEW ONE FOR FY 2019, HARMONIZING GRAPEVINE NURSERY STOCK CERTIFICATION PROGRAMS IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST (WITH DEPARTMENTS OF AGRICULTURE IN WASHINGTON, OREGON, AND IDAHO). WE WERE ALSO AWARDED TWO NEW GRANTS ONE A SPECIALTY CROP BLOCK GRANT FROM WSDA, AND ONE FROM THE NATIONAL CLEAN PLANT NETWORK.


SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: TO PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION STUDENTS TO STUDY THE WINE INDUSTRY OR WINE GRAPE GROWING. VARIOUS OTHER PROGRAMS APPROVED BY THE BOARD
