THE TRUCKEE RIVER WATERSHED COUNCIL WAS FOUNDED TO IMPLEMENT LOCALLY DEVELOPED PUBLIC-PRIVATE COLLABORATIVE SOLUTIONS TO PROTECT AND IMPROVE WATER QUALITY AND BIOLOGICAL RESOURCES FOR THE SUSTAINABLE ENVIRONMENTAL AND ECONOMIC HEALTH OF THE TRUCKEE RIVER WATERSHED.

RESTORATION. TRUCKEE RIVER DAY, A VOLUNTEER-BASED HABITAT RESTORATION WORK DAY WAS HELD WITH 450 VOLUNTEERS. LARGE-SCALE RESTORATION PROJECTS TOOK PLACE AT THE MARTIS WILDLIFE AREA, COLDSTREAM CANYON, BEAR CREEK LOWER MEADOW, SARDINE MEADOW, AND BOCA MEADOWS.
TRUCKEE RIVER WATERSHED PLANNING. WE BROUGHT STAKEHOLDERS TOGETHER TO COORDINATE WATERSHED MANAGEMENT AND PLANNING. FOR EXAMPLE, WITH THE DONNER LAGOON RESTORATION, DONNER LAKE STEWARDSHIP PLANNING, FOREST HEALTH ASSESSMENT, PROSSER BASIN ASSESSMENT, EUER VALLEY RESTORATION, GROUNDWATER DEPENDENT ECOSYSTEMS ASSESSMENT, LACEY MEADOWS RESTORATION, TRUCKEE RIVER WILDLIFE AREA RESTORATION, SARDINE MEADOWS RESTORATION, AND COLDSTREAM CANYON RESTORATION.
WATERSHED ISSUES FORUM, EDUCATION, AND OUTREACH. WE HELD VIRTUAL PROJECT SITE TOURS AND RIVER TALKS ABOUT OUR PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS ABOUT TWO TIMES A MONTH. WE HELD AN ADDITIONAL TWO IN-PERSON PROJECT TOURS. OUTREACH ACTIVITIES INCLUDED INCREASED PRESENCE ON FACEBOOK AND INSTAGRAM AS WELL AS E-NEWSLETTERS AND PAPER NEWSLETTERS.
