ECOSYSTEM RESTORATIONWORKING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PRIVATE LANDOWNERS, TRIBES, STATE AND FEDERAL AGENCIES, MUNICIPALITIES AND COMMUNITY GROUPS, LOMAKATSI DEVELOPS AND IMPLEMENTS SMALL TO LANDSCAPE SCALE, ECOLOGICALLY BASED, FOREST, WOODLAND AND RIPARIAN HABITAT RESTORATION PROJECTS ACROSS OREGON AND NORTHERN CALIFORNIA. THESE PROJECTS ARE DESIGNED TO RESTORE ECOSYSTEM FUNCTION AND RESILIENCE, AND REDUCE THE THREAT OF SEVERE FIRE TO COMMUNITIES AND WILDLIFE HABITAT. LOMAKATSI INTEGRATES WORKFORCE TRAINING, DEVELOPMENT AND EMPLOYMENT IN THESE PROJECTS PROVIDING ECONOMIC STIMULUS AND SUPPORT TO RURAL COMMUNITIES.


EDUCATIONLOMAKATSI DEVELOPS AND IMPLEMENTS EDUCATION PROGRAMS THAT INTEGRATE INTO OUR ECOSYSTEM RESTORATION PROJECTS AS THE OUTDOOR CLASSROOM. THROUGH SUMMER TRAINING AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS FOR 16 - 24 YEAR-OLD YOUNG ADULTS, LOMAKATSI EMPLOYS AND MENTORS THE NEXT GENERATION OF ECOSYSTEM STEWARDS AND NATURAL RESOURCE MANAGERS. IN COLLABORATION WITH SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY GROUPS LOMAKATSI TEACHES SCHOOL CHILDREN AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS HOW TO RESTORE HABITAT, AND THE IMPORTANCE OF ECOSYSTEM STEWARDSHIP.
