TO REVITALIZE DOWNTOWN VANCOUVER, WA FOR THE PURPOSE OF ATTRACTING RESIDENTS, NON RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES IN WHICH TO LIVE, WORK, AND PLAY.

Part 3 - Line 4a

VDA CREATES A VITAL AND ATTRACTIVE DOWNTOWN ENVIRONMENT TO ENCOURAGE RESIDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CITY'S COMMUNITY EVENTS AND TO SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES. IN 2022, VDA ACHIEVED NOTABLE PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS ACROSS THREE KEY AREAS. FIRST, THE INTRODUCTION OF THE CLEAN AND SAFE AMBASSADOR PROGRAM SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVED THE DOWNTOWN'S CLEANLINESS AND SAFETY BY PROVIDING ON THE GROUND SUPPORT IN REMOVING LITTER, GRAFFITI AND ASSISTING VISITORS. IN ADDITION, VDA COMPLETED A VARIETY OF CAPITAL "CLEAN AND SAFE" INVESTMENTS IN THE CITY CENTER: NEW SECURE LITTER RECEPTACLES, AND LIGHTING PROJECTS TO PROMOTE NIGHTTIME CONNECTIVITY AND SAFETY. SECOND, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE GREAT RIVER ARTS FESTIVAL, THE VDA ADORNED DOWNTOWN VANCOUVER WITH TWENTY NEW MURALS, ELEVATING THE CITY'S AESTHETICS AND CELEBRATING LOCAL ART AND CULTURE. THIRD, THROUGH A PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CITY OF VANCOUVER, THE VDA LAUNCHED THE MAIN STREET PROMISE PROJECT, A PIVOTAL EFFORT TO REINVIGORATE MAIN STREET BY ENHANCING ITS INFRASTRUCTURE, ACCESSIBILITY, CONNECTIVITY, AND SAFETY. AS PART OF THE COLLABORATION, THE VDA BEGAN DESIGNING BUSINESS RETENTION INITIATIVES TO SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES DURING THE CONSTRUCTION PHASE. THESE ACCOMPLISHMENTS UNDERSCORE THE VDA'S DEDICATION TO BOOSTING THE CITY'S VIBRANCY, CULTURE, AND OVERALL WELL BEING.
