THE LAKE CHELAN HEALTH & WELLNESS FOUNDATION WAS ORGANIZED IN 1982 TO PROVIDE AND IMPROVE HEALTH CARE SERVICES AT THE LAKE CHELAN COMMUNITY HOSPITAL AND ITS SERVICE AREA. IN 2021, OVER $60,000 IN HEALTHCARE EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS WERE AWARDED AND OVER $100,000 WAS CONTRIBUTED TO THE CHELAN HOSPITAL FOR WELLNESS PROGRAMS.

THE LAKE CHELAN HEALTH & WELLNESS FOUNDATION IS COMMITTED TO ADVANCING HEALTHCARE FACILITIES WITHIN ITS HOSPITAL DISTRICT. THE FOUNDATION REGULARLY PURCHASES HIGHLY NEEDED EQUIPMENT FOR THE LAKE CHELAN COMMUNITY HOSPITAL. IN THE 1990S, THE FOUNDATION SPONSORED A CAPITAL CAMPAIGN THAT RAISED $900,000 TO SUPPORT THE BUILDING OF A NEW HOSPITAL FLOOR. SINCE 1997, EQUIPMENT PURCHASES HAVE INCLUDED EMERGENCY AND OPERATING ROOM EQUIPMENT, AN X-RAY UNIT, PORTABLE BEDSIDE MONITORS, AND IV PUMPS. THE FOUNDATION PURCHASED GLIDESCOPES FOR EMS VEHICLES, ORTHOPEDIC SURGICAL TOOLS, CHILDREN'S WAITING ROOM FURNITURE, AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATORS, A WATER PURIFICATION SYSTEM, AND AN INTEGRATED LISTENING SYSTEM FOR PEDIATRIC PATIENTS. EQUIPMENT PURCHASES ALSO INCLUDE C-ARM, PORTABLE X-RAY, AND PUT EQUIPMENT. MORE RECENTLY, THE FOUNDATION HAS RAISED FUNDS FOR A NEW HOSPITAL BUILDING. CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE HOSPITAL INCLUDE THE USE OF DESIGNATED DONOR ADVISED FUNDS.
THE LAKE CHELAN HEALTH & WELLNESS FOUNDATION IS DEDICATED TO EDUCATING CURRENT AND FUTURE HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS IN ITS COMMUNITY. SINCE 1995, THE FOUNDATION HAS PROVIDED OVER $1.6 MILLION FOR HEALTHCARE EDUCATION TO CURRENT AND FUTURE CAREGIVERS IN THE LAKE CHELAN VALLEY FROM THE INVESTMENT INCOME GENERATED FROM A BEQUEST OF OVER $1 MILLION BY EDNA BRAGG. IN 2021, 25 LAKE CHELAN VALLEY STUDENTS PURSUING ADVANCED HEALTHCARE DEGREES AND 2 LOCAL HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS RECEIVED OVER $60,000 IN HEALTHCARE EDUCATION ASSISTANCE.
IN 2013, A CHILD WELLNESS PROGRAM, "CLUB MAX", WAS LAUNCHED. CLUB MAX INSPIRES LOCAL YOUTH TO LEAD HEALTHIER LIVES, WITH A SPECIFIC FOCUS ON FIGHTING CHILDHOOD OBESITY. COMMUNITY WELLNESS PROGRAMS SUCH AS DIABETES SMACKDOWN, WELLNESS THEATRE, AND SCHOOL DONATIONS HAVE ALSO IMPROVED WELLNESS IN THE SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY. DUE TO COVID, NO PROGRAMS WERE HELD IN 2021.
