THE JUNEAU COMMUNITY FOUNDATION SERVES AS A VEHICLE FOR LONG TERM CHARITABLE GIVING BY MAINTAINING KNOWLEDGE OF THE NEEDS AND RESOURCES IN JUNEAU; CONNECTS DONORS WITH THE ORGANIZATIONS THAT WORK TO MAKE OUR COMMUNITY A BETTER PLACE; PROVIDES DONORS WITH THE ASSURANCE THEIR GIFTS WILL HAVE THE GREATEST BENEFIT WHILE REMAINING TRUE TO THEIR DESIGNATED WISHES; PARTNERS WITH PROFESSIONAL INVESTMENT AND FINANCIAL ADVISORS TO MAXIMIZE GIFT POTENTIAL AND ENHANCES PHILANTHROPY IN JUNEAU TO FUND COMMUNITY PROJECTS NOT COVERED BY EXISTING NONPROFITS.

THE JUNEAU COMMUNITY FOUNDATION STRIVES FOR POSITIVE CHANGE IN OUR CULTURALLY DIVERSE COMMUNITY AND SOUTHEAST ALASKA BY PROVIDING GRANTS FROM OUR DISCRETIONARY FUNDS, DONOR ADVISED, DONOR DESIGNATED, AGENCY, AND SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS. THE FOUNDATION ALSO LEVERAGES GRANTS FROM OTHER ORGANIZATIONS TO SUPPORT PROGRAMS, PROJECTS, AND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS. TAKEN TOGETHER THESE GRANTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS HAVE A PROFOUND EFFECT ON A BROAD RANGE OF IMPORTANT ISSUES INCLUDING IMPROVEMENTS IN EDUCATION, HEALTH, SOCIAL SERVICES, A VIBRANT ARTS COMMUNITY, YOUTH EQUITY, AND HEALTHY ACTIVITIES. DURING 2022, THE FOUNDATION CONTINUED TO GROW PHILANTHROPY WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY WITH THE ESTABLISHMENT OF SIX NEW FUNDS; AND INCREASED CONTRIBUTIONS TO OUR SUSTANABILITY AND COMMUNITY IMPACT FUNDS IN THE AREAS OF YOUTH AND EDUCATION, HEALTH AND SOCIAL SERVICES, PARKS, TRAILS AND RECREATION AND ARTS AND CULTURE.
