Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
JEFFERSON COMMUNITY FOUNDATION PLAYED A SIGNIFICANT ROLE IN RESPONDING TO THE SOCIO-ECONOMIC IMPACTS AND CHALLENGES OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC BY FACILITATING THE STRATEGIC ALLOCATION OF MORE THAN $700,000 IN COMMUNITY INVESTMENTS TO LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS ON THE FRONTLINES OF THE CRISIS. IN ADDITION TO FUNDING, JCF SERVED AS A CONVENOR OF FRONTLINE ORGANIZATIONS, SO THEY COULD WORK TOGETHER MORE EFFECTIVELY AND EFFICIENTLY TO BUILD STRONGER SUPPORT SYSTEMS. JCF ALSO PROVIDED WEEKLY UPDATES TO THE BROADER COMMUNITY ABOUT THE RAPIDLY CHANGING LANDSCAPE OF NEEDS. AT THE SAME TIME, JCF CONTINUED TO STRENGTHEN LOCAL NONPROFITS BY HOSTING KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGES, NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES, CAPACITY BUILDING TRAININGS, AND BY FACILITATING CONNECTIONS TO NEW POTENTIAL DONORS. BY CONNECTING LOCAL (DESCRIPTION CONTINUED ON SCH O) DONORS AND NONPROFITS, JCF HAS HELPED TO FILL GAPS IN LOCAL SERVICES LIKE ADVOCACY FOR VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT FOR LOCAL STUDENTS AND TEACHERS, AND NEW UNITS OF SHELTER FOR FAMILIES THAT WOULD OTHERWISE BE HOMELESS. JEFFERSON COMMUNITY FOUNDATION STRENGTHENS OUR COMMUNITY AND HELPS TO IMPROVE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR ALL THROUGH GENEROSITY, DIVERSITY, AND TOGETHERNESS.
